Best way to lie?

    I've heard that you should keep it simple
    Then I've heard that lots of details are better....seems more convincing.

    Well, my roomie decided not to let me know of a convoluted lie he told his exgirlfriend...a lie that included me. Big mistake. Then his ex caught me at my front door and asked me if I knew he was moving out. I said .."what the fuck!?" and then..... it ALL unraveled.

    Not only is he "moving out", but he also joined the fire department.
    Then one day on the job he got into an accident and was in a coma for 3-4 days.
    His mom flew up from SoCal and ONLY she could visit him in the hospital.
    When he got out he had a horrible limp for weeks.
    He has a new place in Oakland and the only reason all his stuff is still at our place is 'cause his cousin and best friend are moving in with me and they need furniture......and I'm ok with it.

    and all to keep her digital camera she left behind

    When she realized all the above mentioned was not at all familiar to me....she left crying in the rain...camera-less.
    I felt bad.
    Gotta be an easier way to get a free camera
