Doesn't have to be the most/least effective, just personal favorites.
Best- Bret "The Hitman" Hart's Sharphooter for obv reasons. Just loved seeing the pain on the opponent's face... and my brother put me in it all the time and had respect for how bad it really hurt.
Worst- Stone Cold Steve Austin's Stunner. Idk why, looking back it is prob pretty effective I just never liked him and it pissed me off that his opponent never fucking ever recovered from it.
LOL @ the Linda McMahon stunner wrong camera angle. -
Best: Rowdy Roddy Piper vs Superfly Jimmy Snuka - Coconut to the head
-
worst is the peoples elbow in a landslide. My personal favorites are the flying elbow smash and the pedigree.
-
Hulk Hogan's leg drop was retarded. Worst move in history. I used to do that move on my sister when we were kids. The only time it ever worked or caused any suffering is when I would miss and land on her with my ass. That's where all the weight/force is.
-
Worst ending for WWF is extinction.
-
Yeah i don't get the hate for the stunner from op... i've been stunnered before and that shit hurt like a motherfucker
-
Ding Ding...first 2 that came to mind. Although I still love The Rock.
-
I'm a fan of the moves that can be hit out of nowhere to end the match. So the Stunner is obv up there along with HBK's Sweet Chin Music. DDP's Diamond Cutter was God-mode back in the WCW days.
Things that take a ton of time to set up - the People's elbow was spot on - are stupid. -
Superfly Snuka flying elbow; Demolition tag team elbow/backbreaker; DDT; Rude Awakening; Figure four leg locks; Mr. Perfect's perfect plex... love late 80s early 90s wrestling. -
Best - Razor's Edge
Worst - I guess technically it isn't a finisher since Taker also had the Tombstone, but i always hated the chokeslams he did. he'd pick someone up by their throat and more or less slowly place them down. -
Who was the big fat samoan guy that use to stick his ass in the guys face in the corner of the ring...wasn't like Rikishi or something? That one always made me lol
-
Best Old School: Jake Roberts DDT
Best New School: Evan Bournes and Justin Gabriels top rope moves are wicked
Worst Old School: Tully Blanchards Slingshot Suplex..just lol at being a finisher
Worst New School: John Cena's FU/AA...for realz...its basically a body slam -
I disagree, 619 is the most retarded finishing move ever. How often in any other fight is a wwf star on their knees hanging on the middle rope? Absolutely never, yet ever Mysterio match they're always set up.

Best finishers have already been mentioned.. Sharpshooter and Razor's Edge. However my favorite move is the shooting star press.

Personally my favorite wrestler of all time is Bill Goldberg so I will say his spear is the best even though I know its kinda weak. But it makes sense since he was a football player. My dad was a wrestling nut. I quit following it when I moved out.

Although sweet chin music came before the stunner, I grew up in the Attitude Era, so the Stunner was THE Finisher. When Austin hit the stunner it was like nothing else. I like move like SCM and the RKO/Diamond Cutter (stuff that can be hit out of nowhere), but when I think Finisher, I think the Stone Cold Stunner.
-
Best: Lex Luger's torture rack looked pretty painful. Shawn Michaels sweet chin music always looked like he really fucked up some people. But by far the best was Ravishing rick rude's rude awakening. I think they actually band that type of neck breaker because he was fucking people up. He lands a good 1 at 44 secs.

The worst by far was the Ultimate warrior splash. Seemed retarded given the warrior didnt weigh that much. he didnt even do it off the top rope or anything.
-
i forget if it was scotty too hotty or grandmaster sexay but one of them did a finishing move doing the worm followed by an elbow drop. pretty weak imo, stopped watching wrestling after that
-
ya the running splash was some weak shit but in his defense it was always introduced with a gorilla press drop
-
also Rick "the model" martels cartwheel was the nuts
-
Worst: Hogan's leg drop.
Best: Randy Savage elbow from the top rope.
Honorable mentions: Jake Robert's DDT, Rick Rude, Frankensteiner, Arn Anderson's spine buster was a thing of beauty. -
The Camel Clutch by the Iron Sheik.
-
Lol at most/least effective, forget that it is scripted or something?
