    Currently in Monteray, CA. Going through Big Sur tomorrow, hope it is worth it...went a bit out of our way to see it. Any suggestions would be great, checking original thread now for pointers. it can be found here (a bit of background):

    Thanks for any suggestions, going all the say to SD so anything along the way would be sweet. Too tired to update pics from last 24 hrs, but will try to do a few tomorrow.

    Big Sur is totally worth it. The drive from Carmel to San Louis Obispo is beautiful.

    so far I have down; see the hot springs, eat @ Post Oak Ranch or Post Ranch Inn, and possibly the Esalen Institute? What is that about? I googled and was a bit confused. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend, Thanks to all that have served in the United States.

    I drove Pacific coast hwy 2 times. Both times it was foggy and I didn't see shit. Hope the weather is better for your trip.

    ya i mean esalen might be out there for some, but some of the greatest minds of the past 50 years have resided there. Iif art/music/philosophy/eastern spirituality/camping/nature/photograhpy/film making etc... isnt you or your girl's thing, you guys might not like it. they still have hot springs w/ view of ocean even if not tho. eidt: and glad to hear ya'll are on road having a good time, even tho i dont know you in the least. lol humans...

    right above fernwood campgrounds there is a restaurant and deli.. below is a river you can sit in chairs, drink beer and eat your food! really peaceful!
