I know a people who have both, and both seem to like them just fine. I would personally go with the blackberry, but I have always been partial to them, and am used to having one, but I'm sure I would like the Droid too once I got used to it.
-
I have the droid and I love it.
My sister has the Storm (not the storm 2) but im assuming its almost the same. The clicking screen is pretty annoying and I didnt really like using it at all.
When I was available for my upgrade... getting the storm over the droid never even crossed my mind. I dont thinks its close at all. -
anybody with the droid is gonna suggest the droid
anybody with a blackberry is gonna suggest a blackberry
with that said, go with the berry -
The Droid is awesome. The Android 2.1 update just came through with voice text entry. It is remarkably accurate and I can respond to texts and emails in the field super fast.
Also, the turn by turn navigation with Google maps is phenomenal....and free!!
I've compared my Droid to my wife's Iphone 3g and it is better at almost everything.
You would be silly not to get a Droid over a Blackberry. -
Droid and it is not close. I just switched from the BB to the Nexus One (pretty much a droid) about 3 weeks ago and it isn't close. Droid for the win.
-
droid is soooooooooooo much better. just got it a few weeks ago and it is so much better then the blackberry i had. best phone on the market. faster internet with more apps then the iphone with a pullout keyboard (gf has the iphone). go with the droid 100%.
-
for surfing, texting, coolness etc - see iphone
-
as a former storm owner stay the fuck away from dem pos. seriously tho!
-
If you could wait a few weeks there are two phones which have much better specs than the droid imho.
Nexus One and HTC Incredible both rumored to be out for Verizon in April.
Google them and check them out before you make a decision. -
i have a droid eris and I gotta say its awesome. don't like blackberry's design. have heard terrible things about storm 2's battery and hardware.
-
All of this. Althought I dont think I need the voice text... cause if I can talk, then I would just call.

But the navigation is clutch. Also, the 2.1 upgrade also updated the phot gallery too in case you didnt notice. Its 10x's better now then what it was.
Did any other upgrades come with that? -
Hey does the 2.1 upgrade just show up on it and automatically install?

Takes about 5 minutes tops. -
Android is hot right now and while it is technically over a year old, it only was on one phone in the US until 10/09, so just imagine how much more amazing it will be by the end of the year, I mean it's google FFS. If you're not in a hurry I recommend waiting until June, yes I know the argument new phones will continue to be released, but if the HTC Incredible reaches Verizon you will have a nice upgrade to the Droid, but the Droid is fkn awesome and you will be very happy with it and Android OS if you choose to go that route.

IMO, the Storm2 (far cry from the original Storm) is much better than the HTC Droid. If you're talkin' about the Motorola Droid, then it's much closer with the Motorola probably coming out ahead.
From everything I've read and the people that I know that have the Motorola Droid, it's a great piece of equipment with the main criticism being that it leaves something to be desired as an actual phone (i.e. calls dropped/not going through, poor reception where they always had it, etc.) Call me crazy, but I want my phone to work...you know, as a phone.
We did an upgrade a few months ago and we picked the Storm2. The wife wasn't happy with hers and my touch screen froze within the first 30 days. Still, I loved the phone itself, but the wife wanted something simpler for calling and texting so we downgraded and went that route. I'm so regretting the decision. Luckily, one of our other phones is eligible for an upgrade this month and I'm definitely getting rid of my LG and going back to the Storm2.
Oh, one last thing, if you get a touch screen, opt for the insurance. -
turns out you might be very lucky this month...this is the phone I mentioned earlier that will be an upgraded Android phone compared to the Droid (no, it's not waaaaaaaaaay better, it's just an upgrade), faster processor, better camera etc.

I had the BB, two of my coworkers got the Motorola Droid and they were so much cooler. I got the nexus one which uses the new 2.1 software and is sick as all hell. If I couldn't have gotten this phone I would have gone for the Motorola droid but the Nexus one is a step up.
Get the Droid man. BB has some catching up to do.
This is not close. Take it from someone who owns both (gave the BB to my girl and now she wants my Droid). -
unless you're an Apple enthusiast there is no point in waiting for the iPhone and passing up the Incredible. and you obviously don't need a physical keyboard, so no point in getting the Droid now.
if you're on Verizon and due for an upgrade, get the Incredible at the end of the month. easiest decision available -

I had the storm and just upgraded to Droid. I do think the both have there advantages. Storm would give 6.5/10 and Droid 8.5/10 just my opinion. If you want a Storm let me know mine is in good condition, only thing is my camera works spotty but insure it as soon as you switch and run the bish over and boom you will have a new one. Let me know if you go the storm route and are interested.

This is the phone...
