    Blago really was about as dumb as they get. He could have done the job properly, been made into a respectable politician and done very well for himself in the process. Rather, he thought the Senate seat once occupied by Obama was "fuckin golden". Rod stepped on his dick on this one bigtime.

    Rod always just seemed like a pawn in the game. He never seemed like a leader to me. To me this sentence seemed a little harsh for the crime. I didn't vote for him and never really liked him, but 14 years is a long time with two little kids at home. He's definately gonna regret his actions.

    60 minutes ran a piece on this (wall street) on Sunday night - i'm sure its available on line somewhere. There were very specific laws put in place several years ago for the express purpose of prosecuting executives who signed off on false financial disclosures / audits. There are numerous wall street execs (Citi Bank for one) who have committed offenses, yet charges have never been laid. In fact, nobody has every been charged under this law. According to the piece they presented.
