  4. There were a series of CD's put out called "Pickin' On XXXX" - with covers of classic rock artists like the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd - plus a bunch of Texas/Southern Rock gods (SRV, Allman Brothers). Here are a few samples.

    Adding a few more favorites.

Reason: added a couple more - Jam On on Sirius is my favorite station and you hear a lot of semi-bluegrass stuff on it.

  10. Love me some bluegrass. Nice thread.
  11. Railroad Earth, Old Crow Medicine Show, Yonder Mountain...this thread is DOPE!

  12. I haven't seen a current bluegrass band out there better than Steep Canyon Rangers. These guys have delivered all 10+ times I've seen them. They tour nationally so check them out if they come to your area. They pretty much tour year 'round so check 'em out. Here's a pretty cool video bio about them. I'm a pretty huge bluegrass fan and I can guarantee you won't be disappointed with them.
  13. These guys are really amazing. From Athens, Ga and they all crowd around one mic.

They also do a sweet cover of the Pixies "Where's My Mind"

  14. Carolina Chocolate Drops are fantastic too. They play a more old-timey style......another Carolina band, excellent!
  15. Rumpke Mountain Boys

Not really Bluegrass, but if you made it this far in the thread, you have good taste in music and most likely will like this
