    say what u want but hes the perfect guy to take over after how last season ended... he is not afraid to show any player his piece of mind when he thinks they aren't as focused as they should be on baseball...

    Is it really that bad? I can't imagine he can do that much damage to a team with that much talent. They'll be fine. Biggest concern for them is their collective health.

    This plus he's the kind of guy who will draw some of the media attention and pressure away from his players and towards himself.

    Has there ever been a manager or coach in any sport that had a decent stint as a TV analyst, then went back to coaching and won a championship? Maybe in college? I can't think of any...

    I think it would be hard to get maximum respect from professional players after they have heard you babble nonsense, spill rumors, and put most of their peers on blast for the past 2 years on TV. Sure he knows a ton about the game but can he motivate these guys and get max effort better than anyone else who was available? I doubt it.
