  1. What the fuck is sports shot? Is that the crazy Canuck mini bowling?
  2. lol tom, I have duckpin bowled and it's a blast. A sports shot is just the oil pattern, it's not as crowned as a house shot so you don't have the room for error you normally would. Anyone can average 200 on a house shot, on a sports shot most of us score about 20 pins a game lower.

    i cud avg 180 on a sport shot w a house ball...

    n ya im braggin' haha

  4. Can you get STDs from house bowling balls?
  5. I bowled in a sports shot league one year where the ball was included. We all used the same ball that had a neutral weight block. Very humbling experience.

The guys that throw hard and straight off the corner probably could ave. 180 with a house ball. We had a guy in our league that actually averaged higher on the sports shot by 2 pins.

It's fun watching the big crankers who average 220 on a house shot struggle to hit 500 on a sport shot.
  6. It is similar to the difference in your expectation of scoring in golf when you go from playing on an easy municipal course to a private championship style course.

  7. Translation = handicapp bowling is for fkn fags

Handicapp bowling brings girls to the bowling alley. That seems like it would be the opposite outcome of what "fags" would want.

  9. what i am saying is that people abuse the handicapp system. people will bowl horrible

on house shots on purpose to lower than average for tournaments.

any good looking girl that enters a bowling alley automatically gets an additional 2 points just

for the fact the most girls/women probably think bowling is fkn gay.

lol @ getting full rides for bowling. I doubt there are more than a handful of teams who might offer them, the majority don't. I had offers to bowl at a couple of colleges but none included a full ride

  11. bowling dosent bring money in for the school. basketball and football are the bread winners

so thats why they get full rides. when i went to college i went to school and then bowled on

my own. id rather have it that way anyway, cause at the time i wasnt even that good at

bowling but having an offer to school sounds pretty cool.

  12. Yea having an offer sounds cool and all but for the most part it pretty worthless except for half ass attempts at a brag 10 years later

  13. LOL they give you an offer so you develop as a bowler. who gives a fk about brag posts.

just amazing " Love for the Game " is only in games that you make a shit load of money like

basketball and football. As Joe Hutchinson said, bowling ain't golf.

    i was a huge cranker....

when forced to use a house ball... i go....

  15. whatever gets u the score. i say whatever works.

who cares about the fkn gay judgemental people. bowling is the only sport i have fkn seen

where people score really good and people will sht on them. i hope OT keeps the bowling hate

parade, it deserves it. the people involved in the bowling industry are epic idiots.
  16. lane, I love you and your wilingness to put it out there.

"that being said" you coulda done much better with the replies in this thread
  17. Don't think anyone in OT hates bowling, infact OT bowling nights are always a lot of fun. OT just hates bowlers...

  18. When I was in 3rd or 4th grade my class had a pen pal program with some special ed kids at a different school. Then we had a couple shared field trips. Went bowling on one of them. The kids in wheel chairs rolled their ball down a ramp and beat the crap out of us. Such fucking bullshit

  19. OT disses on bowling

OT dosent want to hear about the sport of bowling

bowling is like playing poker. nobody respects it until money is involved.

Poker Play Money - im sure most people don't give a sht about it.
Poker Real Money - the more money involved the more respect it gets.

most people don't bowl for money anymore so bowling gets shtted on.

I almost got kicked out of YABA when i was 16 for bowling for money openly and the regional director just happen to be there.

bowling for money is really what the sport is about. plus there are fucking great tourneys in vegas each year, eliminator and high roller are the ones i can think of.

  21. yeah those non-PBA vegas tournaments used to be epic. my friend won one for $ 125,000.

its a shame those tournaments have lost a lot of prize money since the 1990's.

i wouldnt even need to bowl PBA if non-PBA tourmanets had a stronger foundation.
  22. what they should do is guarantee a 1 million first prize and show it live, Might make people start bowling again like what moneymaker did with poker.

  23. no doubt people get motivated by money. problem is how much is the entry fee

    for the tournament ??/
  24. it would probably have to be $1500 or so. If you held national sat tourneys you could get a big show

  25. $ 1,500 @ 800 entries might work. there was an idea about million dollar first place

prize based on age, female, average but it fell through. great concept.

basically it was a format that anyone had a chance to get to TV and win.
  26. you would probably have to have different divisions like the eliminator does to attract the bowlers who are the avg 205 house shot type guy, they won't want to be in the same division as the dude averaging 220 on a sport shot

Here's a link for the USBC Sport Bowling Manual! Don't bowl handicap! Don't bowl on house shots! Shoe up or shut up!
  28. I like pretty much all sports. I used to mess around and bowl on a league for a couple years when I was like 9 and 10. I almost rolled a 300 when I was 11 I got 11 out of 12 strikes with my old school Hammer.

I haven't bowled now in about 5 years I kind of miss the game actually. Most of the bowling alleys closed down it seems like the newer generations don't really dig bowling a whole lot.
  29. bowling isn't worth the money and time. i don't know why i bowl but i just do.

i love bowling on tournament conditions even though im not that successful at them.

newer generation diss on bowling, bowling to most young people is just scewing around.
  30. was there someone from OT who made junior team USA, i cant remember
