  1. Complete brag post. I'm on day 6 of having no cigarettes. I've lost 3 no-smoking bets this year and I don't have any action on this one but I don't care. I already feel better and hopefully in a few weeks I won't even be thinking about it.

I've played no poker since quitting but I can't skip a Sunday. I'll play a reduced schedule but probably still tilt off 8 or 9k tommorow.
Any suggestions to help grind? I'm gonna try and get my ass to the gym in the morning but we'll see if that actually happens.
  2. I'm on about...2 1/2 days now. I am doing very well. It hasn't even been hard. I threw out my lighter and cleaned out my car this morning. Feeling good. Congrats and good luck to you.
  3. Quitting smoking is easy I have done it 1,000 times

GL though. i've made it two weeks many times only to get triggered and start up again
  4. first good job. best thing oyu will ever do. coming from a five year pack a day smoker I did it cold turkey.

beware, the physical part is easy, its what will happen in the next few months when you let your guard down that will be tough. i once quit for seven months and smoked one cigarette with some friends on a saturday night. the next week i smoked a few more and smoked for another year or so right back to my pack a day habit.

its been two years now and i haven't touch one and fuckin hate those things. never let your guard down, never have just one.
  5. Congrats I wish you luck with staying clean
  6. grats.
my 2 roommates tried quitting last year. wasnt pretty. it was like they were both PMSing but worse at the same time.
lol but yea dont have any advice, but grats and gl staying off

  7. You obviously should quit for 3 weeks, not tell a soul, than start the no-smoking bets... it'll be easier that way

  8. Congrats, but no tooting your horn on this one until you make it a year... it barely counts until then because of how easily 1 cigarette will send you back.
  9. 6 days is not quitting. I was 10 days in I think before I ended up having a cigarette. and then I went 7 days or so, and then I started again.

but good luck, and keep it up. I hope I can completly stop one day.
  10. meh, 6 days..
good accomplishment so far but report back in 2 years..
  11. a little premature, not even a week yet. Kind of lol. I don't get why it's so hard to quit smoking. Does it count if you smoke a cigarette every once in a while? If I buy a pack it takes me atleast a week and a half to finish the pack.
  12. I guess I am tooting my own horn :) Feeling confident though. Will report back in a few weeks.

Report back tomorrow, after a long day of MTT's...Quick cardio during breaks, gym and jogging when not playing. Worked for me.
  14. Congrats Brat, I am about 5 months quit now, I used combo of pill plus inhaler, was smoking about 15 years before i gave it up. I know its not easy in TO with a lot of smoke friendly padios here etc.

If you are really hurting I would recommend going to shoppers and picking up a nicorette inhaler. About 40 bucks and def helps with the hand to mouth habit and gives you a bit of nicotine without all the chemicals.

Good start tho, honestly wouldnt recommend playing muck poker if you associate it a lot with smoking, 5 minutes breaks will feel like an hour and outlets for bad beats will be wanting to smash your laptop , the journey def gets easier. If you are gonna play anyway just have a plan for breaks GL
