I dont know about you guys but to me seeing a legend go out like this is sick. One of the greatest quaterbacks of all time has no help. I am not just saying this because im a Green Bay fan but this is bad for the whole NFL.
also i dont want to hear that he is over the hill
InTheRed -
favre is still one of my favorite players to watch.
-
yes he is the reason i like him so much is because you never no what he will do next with football
InTheRed -
Favre owns. I can't even imagine what it's going to be like to root for the Packers without #4. Good thing I also have the Cardinals. Wait, nevermind. F the NFL.
-
Favre is the man, I'm not a Packers fan at all but Favre is such a beast.
-
everything said = 100% true
-
if eagles drop owens green bay should pick him up off waivers he and favre would own
-
along with the packers taking bush with the 1st overall pick...
-
TO is a cancer for ANY team ..... and the Packers would be wise to not pick him up . I hope no one does.
-
I would take TO he talks junk but he backs it up.
-
The Texans are going to get the #1 pick. Not the packers.
-
he backs it up ... yes
But he also degrades teammates ..... and if he's doing this on a playoff contender ( well philly aint really contending shit this yr) what will he be saying on a 1-7 packers team .
Don't even wanna know ........... -
Favre has been on record as saying that he would not want to play with a player like Randy Moss, and I beleive Owens is worse to team unity. By the way Favre has never had Great wideouts anyways, and does not need them. He has made Pro Bowlers out of a handful of average to a little better than average receivers and would continue to do so if any of them could stand up for more than three games.
The big point is that the Packers cannot stop the pass and they have also lost Linemen to free agency and injuries this year giving him less time to throw. Combine that with wideouts not fully understanding the offense, along with the hot routes and just the timing you need and that is Favre cannot single handedly win games for the Pack this year.
Also He will NOT go out like this. He will be back, and the organization will put some peices around the defense and a new running back next year and making them an instant NFC title contender once again. Give Me Reggie Bush or give me death! -
I think he's at the end of the line. He's still good, but he doesn't seem to be able to adjust to being only good. He takes too many chances these days, a younger Brett Favre would never have thrown for the end zone on 4th and 3 at the 30 down ten. He looks like a gambler who has won a lot and is playing with house money. He doesn't do the small things in the course of a game anymore, he's too willing to fire it into double even triple coverage thinking his arm is still what it was, and I've never seen a QB wind back and throw jump balls as much as Favre has the past few years.
he reminds me of Roy Jones Jr. in the last Tarver fight. He still has a lot of the skills he always had, but they are diminished just enough that he can't do what he used to. Yet they aren't fallen off enough for him to know he has to do things differently. I truly believe this will be the end for Favre, Mike Sherman is a total ass and Favre sounds like he doesn't wanna play for another coach. -
skywalker favres arm is still as strong as it use to be. The reason he is making as many mistakes is because he is mainly frustrated.all in all though FAVRE still OWNS
-
well, while it is still very good, it just isn't quite as strong, and that makes it a little tougher especially because it probably isn't as apparent to him that it has lost a little bit of zip. I feel like he's played like a gambler playing with house money since shortly after they went to the SB the second time. The game against the Eagles, the 4th and 26 game in the playoffs confirmed it for me. They had that game won, and Favre gave it away. Similar cases could be made for a lot of other games in recent memory.
When I watch Brett Favre these days, I am reminded an awful lot, almost to the point where it is scary, of Jake Plummer. Meaning that he looks like he can win games, he has momenst where he is perfect, where you think no one is better, but deep down you wait for him to take that one game changing chance even though you are ahead by 14 points. That said, here are the QBs and how I rank them since I've been watching football:
1-Elway 2-Montana 3-Favre 4-Marino 5-Young with Manning then Brady working their way up. I don't put Brady ahead of Manning because I believe that the only thing Brady, great as he is, has tha Manning doesn't is Bill Belichek. I can't believe that if you made Brady beat Belichek and his defense, he would have fared any better than Manning. -
well skywalker i am glad you put him in the top 3 and i agree with your list

Brett is and always will be my hero. The passion he displays/has for the game is second to none. Not to mention the fact that with all these guys these days coming out and bashing thier teamates, when has anyone seen Brett do that publicly? I could be wrong, but to my knowledge he has never done such a thing. He is the definition of a true class act.
-
favre has never had great receivers.
yawn....robert brooks. javon walker. donald driver
STERLING SHARPE!!!!
