  1. Although it was just one dumb fan, the backlash from this going public should be nothing short of entertaining.

From ESPN: An 8-year-old New York Jets fan was tackled by an adult Browns fan after Sunday's game, according to the ABC television station in Cleveland.

The boy went to the game in a Jets jersey with his father, who was born in New York. Much to the chagrin of the local crowd, the Jets rallied for a 26-20 overtime victory. The boy's mother, identified as Danielle by the television station because she didn't want to reveal her last name, said the fans in the stadium were great, but that things got out of control after the game.

  2. I call bullshit. Its obv nobody in cleveland knows how to tackle.
  3. hahahahaha

for once its not in Philly, or involving Philly fans.

  4. I have been to a few different stadiums to see Cowboys games. Best fans by far were Minny. Dude's I sat next to bought me beer all game. Worst was Cleveland, Thought I was going to get killed. I'm not dumb enough to go to a game in Philly wearing a Cowboys shirt. St. Louis had morecowbys fans than rams fans, Bears fans are drunk and obnoxious but in a friendly way one again detroit had more cowboys fans than lions fans and Indy fans are just pretty dull in general.
  5. True story:

I went with a few buddies to a Ranger-Flyer playoff game in Philly a bunch of years ago. We were walking out after the Rangers big win and 3 loud Flyer fans walked by and as they passed my buddy felt something on the back of his neck. After a few seconds it started to burn really badly. We went to the arena "hospital" where they treated him and told us that someone sprayed acid on his neck.

While we are there a guy walks in with his 12 year old son and the kid has a nasty cut on the side of his head. Apparently the Dad was wearing a Ranger jersey and talking shit and a Flyer fan decided it would be a great idea to hurl his empty beer bottle at the guy. His aim was bad and he hit the kid in the head.
  6. True Story:

Philly fans will fucking kill you. Leave your opposing jersey at home, or die.
  7. Why would the Dad be talking shit to a bunch of flyers fans, in Philly, wearing Rangers gear, during a playoff game, with his 12 y/o kid??

Not arguing against the actions of my fellow flyers fans, but have some sense. What do you think is gonna happen when you mix alcohol, NY-Philly rivalries and unecessary shit talking? Just go, keep your mouth shut and enjoy the game.
  8. My stories from Flyers - Rangers playoffs.
1995 - Get tickets to the game last minute, sitting in the last row in the top of the stadium.

Fans two sections over grab a fan wearing a NYR jersey and begin to pass him down 15 to 20 rows with the intention of throwing him off the 2nd level and onto the 1st level below. Practically the whole section was involved in the activity and it took 3 resourceful stadium employees to keep the guy from most likely serious injury.

1997 - Flyers vs Rangers (forget which game it was as I went to all the home games this series)

I'm walking the concourse and in section 115 there is a kid standing in the walkway between the seating and the concourse. There are roughly 40 to 50 Flyers fans standing around the kid screaming insults at him and the kid was just standing there crying. As I was watching the kid's Dad came and grabbed him and took him back to his seat.

I've never worn my Philly fan gear in an opposing stadium because of what I have seen in Philly.

I won't even go into the Mets vs Phillies games I went to in the 1980's... fucking Mets fans are assholes.

Since 2007 when I moved to NYC, I've been wearing phils gear out to Shea/Citi. The stadium is usually half full and is filled with Phils fans. Nothing scary about Mets fans these days.
  10. Pretty sure someone would have gone to the hospital if this had happened to me when I was a kid. Either my dad defending me, or the other guy.
  11. I find it hard to believe that this guy wasn't immediately arrested. CBS has a million cops and security wandering around. You get tossed for cheering too loud. Throw anything at all, tossed. Stand the whole game and people behind you complain? tossed. Easily the most strict pro sports venue I've even watched a game at.

If this happened the guy tackling the kid should have been arrested and if it had been my kid I would have beat the hell out of the guy. If I had seen this go down I would have at least held the guy and/or gotten security. That being said, I will never, EVER take a child to a pro football game until they are in high school. I've only been to a few stadiums (Browns, Bengals, Steelers, Bears, Falcons) but ran into a handful of total D-bags at all of them. It's just not a kid friendly envioronment. I love talking football with people who are fans of the opposition and engage in GOOD NATURED smack talk but some people just can't let go of HS football and mistakenly think that you and them are a part of the game. It's just retarded. People take sports way too seriously and do and say shit that they never would in real life. People celebrating when someone gets hurt. People celabrating that Cleveland lost LeBron, hoping people would kill themselves, saying they don't deserve a good team, etc.... Don't get me wrong, we have idiots too. I have friends that are big Steelers fans and have ran into plenty of jackasses at browns games.

In the end though. the vast majority of people I've met at opposing teams stadiums have been cool as hell and they heavily outweigh the d-bags. Despite being a Browns fan I've met some of the coolest people at Heinz field and I've become good friends with many of them and routinely keep in touch.

That being said I will NEVER go to a game in Philly lol.
  12. Dad just got in the car, and ignored it? Pretty sure I'd have AT LEAST contacted police for this. His son could have been seriously hurt, and they may not have even known the extent immediately. A grown man tackling an 8 year old from behind, can have serious consequences. As a parent, by the time the police got there they might have been restraining 2 adults. This is just ridiculous.

It's honestly not that bad anymore. Seats are so damn expensive that the people who used to make the 700level and the Vet unbearable can't afford to get into the game. Of course there are tons of dickheads still, but I remember the games at the Vet being wayyyyyyyyyyy worse than the Linc.

Now the parking lots and the tailgating, thats another story.....

Would like to catch a game there the next time they play the Browns or Tampa (ny NFC team) glad to know I have a lesser chance of being stabbed now.

Didn't the Vet have an onsite jail and courtroom for unruly fans? I remember hearing that.
  15. pretty sure this is the guy who laid the kid out

  16. Just wanted to say "you're proving my point"
  17. I haven't been this disappointed to open a thread based on the title and not see a video since dolphin13's "I think little dolphin13 is on his way out" thread...

Not sure if you meant to reply to me....but I don't get it.
  19. Pretty sure they found out the kid actually had a #6 Heat jersey on. Poor Cleveland...
  20. On the bright side, the kid gets to grow up in Cleveland.
  21. Ohio, making the south look better and better.

Chill the fuck out Dude. It's part of any parent's job to care for their kid when they get a beat down from an adult. Don't act surprised or appalled!!

Your authoritarian nature really tilts the shit out of me.
  23. Douchebags gonna douchebag.

In 1986, my roommate at the time was at Boston Garden for a Bruins-Canadiens game, the Thursday after the World Series ended, when a fool runs round one of the concourses in a Mets jersey, spewing all sorts of rot. He was lucky they weren't picking pieces of him off the floor after that.

Hope this whackjob in Cleveland gets a little time in gaol and gets tackled himself-before taking the high hard one. Do this to a child? Someone should have a go, using him as the heavy bag.
  24. LOL!!! Typical Cleveland fans imo.

    /sarcasm.
  25. thanks jesterwoods for reminding me why i hate all things philly and that most philly ppl are trash at heart!

  27. your also a crazyfuck haha.. unrelated, but reading this thread reminded me of that youtube video where the two little league football teams are playing and the one parent is pissed at something, so he runs on the field full throttle and pushes one of the other kids on the field about 5 yards..brings a tear from laughing so hard every time

Wouldn't suprise me. Sports parents are worse than the worst psycho sports fan. Played youth soccer and one of the parents beat the shit out of one of the refs. I was in 5th grade. Also coached pee wee football two years ago (never again) and some of the stuff the parents and grandparents would do and say buggled the mind.
  29. The truth came out yesterday.

The kid got bumped by a drunk during the mass exodus and he apologized for it; other fans helped to get the kid out of the train of humanity moving past.

Mom got pissed and spouted off to the paper. Once the TV stations came calling, she went anonymous and stopped talked. The Jets offered an olive branch and the family declined knowing that the truth was on its way out
