I still believe the Brown's best move was to seek that value in the 1st and 3rd round picks they would have got if they didn't sign Anderson, but at the same time, i'm not upset to see a QB back to add some continuity to the Browns. That being said 3 yrs at 21.6 million to a guy that will likely be on the bench in between .5 and 1.5 years doesn't sit well with me. Brady Quinn is the future.
-
they did something right for a change.
-
not right. 7mil a yr is far too much. yah anderson did a great job, but he did a 5mil job. sucks that quinn will have to wait another 2 yrs before he gets the ball.
-
you people need to stop talking "the future" all the time and start with NOW for a change. you liked having a good qb and winning games, no? he will only get better. quinn is not god, he is ok.
-
cereally...
-
I don't see why people have so much faith in Brady Quinn. He seriously wasn't that good. It seems like he hasa very good chance of being a bust to me.
-
u cleveland ppl are retarded when it comes to everything
derek anderson is the truth, lol at brady quinn -
Brady Quinn is more Rick Mirer than Joe Montana
-
really anderson looked great and is what 24 or 25 ? and youd be happier with an overrated quinn who hasnt done anythin ? sigh
-
all the ppl who are confused as to why clevelanders would want quinn instead of anderson shouldnt be confused, most ppl from cleveland are fuckin retarded and backwards
-
Anderson was solid this year, and 'solid' is better than 2/3 of NFL QBs. The pool is so thin right now that when you find a good one you don't let them go; just ask the Chargers (not that Rivers is a failure, but he's not Drew Brees either). At least half of the league's teams would take Anderson in a second; he's not that great, but everyone else just sucks.
-
rivers is prbably as good as Quinn will ever be but Quinn doesn't have the we chargers standing around him hence if Anderson was a chargers they wouldve prob gone a game further.
-
the are overpaying anderson. they should start brady quinn and spent that money in FA or traded anderson for a high draft pick.
i hoenstly dont think that anderson is all that great. quinn isnt anything special but i think he can play around andersons stats and they couldve better spent that money -
im not even a browns fan, i just hate how retarded browns fans are
like think about football seriously for one fucking second.....
where would your pathetic team have been w charlie fyre starting this past yr instead of stud young inexperienced derek anderson?
in the end same results, no playoffs, but you guys were actually a team to be reckoned with having anderson as your starter -
Operpaid big time. Check out the Browns schedule last year. It was cake, they beat 1 decent team (Seattle). They play the NFC East this year and a 2nd place schedule. They'll be lucky to win 6 games.
-
Great deal for the browns.
Quinn will be a flop in the NFL. there is a reason he fell to 17th in the draft...noboby wanted him. If the browns didn't trade up to get him there he would have fallen farther.
Anderson proved he can win games in the NFL.
And is Quinn the first athlete to have 3-5 national endorsement deals while riding the pine in their rookie year? -
He proved he could beat the Bengals, Ravens, Dolphins, Rams, Texans, Jets, Bills, 49ers, and Seahawks (only good team they beat). When they had to win against Cincy to get into the playoffs he threw 4 picks. I'll pull up this thread next year when they finish 5-11 and he throws 20 picks. They have way too many needs on defense to give this guy that much money after one season.
-
thats the point, they have a qb now, they have other needs they need to take care of. that also means a qb cant carry your team without a team around him, anderson made what he could with what he had. imagine if his team didnt suck balls. picks come when you have to do more than you should have to do on your own and try to carry a team instead of playing as a team, get a team already. trade quinn to make that happen.
guess what? any good starting qb will cost that kind of money eventually, they locked him in at this years inflation rate which is always a good thing.
i get so tired of crappy teams thinking one guy can carry everything lol. -
first off, i guarantee none of you have watched more browns games or followed the browns more closely than i have, and anderson's success to me is far more a product of one of the best offensive lines in the entire league
anderson is talented and would have gained the browns 1st and 3rd rounders, considering his stock is extremely high and i don't believe his talent level is the price the browns have paid, i'm still unsure about the move
and i can't accept someone from ohio wearing a yankees hat :-) -
"anderson made what he could with what he had. imagine if his team didnt suck balls. picks come when you have to do more than you should have to do on your own and try to carry a team instead of playing as a team, get a team already."
He had Winsolw and Edwards.
I'm not saying he's not good. I'm saying he's not worth that kind of money. He benefited from playing a cake schedule.
Remember Scott Mitchell???
