So i have this credit card from high school with a 500 limite that obviously i was stupid with maxed it and pretty much just said screw it. Fast forward to 10 years later they went into my bank account, froze the account, and now they are pretty much taking everything out of the account. I looked online and it says they have can do this in some cases but is there anything i can do? i mean dont they have to give notice that somehing like this is going to happen? Its probably peanuts to you guys but it was literally like all the money i had at the moment. I called the company and their like ur moneys gone (1800) and you still owe us 600 more, i literally felt like i was going to puke.

My bank is keeping the money in the account for 10 days in case i want to dispute it, is there anyway i can actually dispute it or get around this? So sick over it right now

Any legal advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

However, there are statute of limitations for everything, typically 5-7 years in terms of credit cards. They can not legally collect after that time frame and if they are doing so now you should dispute the charges, and if they so wish to collect have them sue you, at which point they'll have to send you a statement of what's owed and you can proceed from there. The only way they can do this is if they have already received a judgment against you.

Apparently they have already took it to court. Shouldnt i have been notified of said court date so i could of at least worked out some sort of payment plan? This was literally out of left field without any kind of notice or anything.

They probably gave you 10 years worth of notice. I doubt they (the C/C company) stopped trying to contact you, if they did they most certainly turned you over to a collection agency (who would've hounded you). I'm honestly surprised how stupid you are in this situation. You didn't honestly believe the C/C company would just forgive the debt did you (unless you declared bankruptcy)? I guess I would try a debt consolidation place and see if they can help you out. I think you're fucked and feel zero sympathy for you.

Dude. Do you honestly think the company isn't well aware of what they can and can't do? I mean, I guess technically they could just know and say fk it lets take this guys money anyway, maybe he won't say anything....but i doubt it.

I smoke weed from the first tee to the 18th green everytime I golf never even been bothered once about it. I get fucking hammered on the course sometimes as well but have never displayed the lack of care for for the course or flat out juvenile behaviour you and your boys showed on that sad summer day

Fast forward to like the 9th hole where their like you guys suck, you're taking too long blah blah( i should mention neither of us had golfed in 4 years) and are just like we're out of here we're going to play ahead?????? I mean really how fucking gay is that? I could see if they were good but they were fucking awful, if it hadnt been my first time playing in 4 years and we werent trying to fuck the sweaty cart whore.

Then i get this gem text from clay the next day " they said your etiquette was horrible" LOLOLOLOOLOLOL. Didnt realize i was at a 19th century french royal dinner and that my etiquette was just so foul lol.

Not really sure where im even going with this but just thought it was awesome, the text was just so LOLOL its hilarious on soooo many levels.

They can't take your money w/o a court order so there must be more to this.
