  1. anyone here do this?

most of the tv i watch is available online and i can still watch local news and sports on the antenna. i'm thinking it's worth it to save the $100/month. at worst, we don't have as much to watch and we spend less time watching tv.

any thoughts or suggestions to sites for streaming (netflix, hulu, etc.)
  2. You're paying $100/mo for just cable? Do you have all the premium channels?

It can be tough to get good quality first run premium content, and you may have to wait up to a week for some Hulu streams.

Netflix is well worth the money IMO, although the streaming content is fairly limited currently. It does seem to be growing steadily though.

Of course there is plenty of pirated content if that's not a problem for you.
  3. our cable is probably closer to $85-90, but still, it's too high.
we watch all of our tv recorded so we can skip the commercials. we use netflix now and although the selection could be better, i know they will be having a larger selection with the deal they made recently. i'm fine with not seeing shows for a week, but some networks make the shows available on their website quicker than that.
    i'm not interested in pirating.
    hail lenny!

  5. I canceled my cable and sold my TV and it is working out just fine (much $$ saved) but then again I mainly watch movies and soccer which you can't get much of on basic cable anyway. All the good TV shows are available through Netflix or easily found online though, so ya.
  6. def worth it. id get a separate computer just for streaming
  7. i honestly was just thinking the same thing.. its def convenient to be able to watch stuff on tv and record, however you can really watch any tv show you want or movie if you know how to look. i pay like 160 with movie channels and internet combined.. would love to come off that number quite a bit if possible
  8. No cable here. internet and netflix and espn on xbox. you obv can watch anything. though i might get sly and pay 5 bucks a month and feed off my mom's satellite (she has portable dishes that can be popped over here) and since she is dumb and buys every channel, its obv worth it lol
  9. cable is a fucking jack no matter where you live. i pay 120 a month for cable+internet, but I dont have hd anything and only 60 channels. when is obama gonna get us universal cable!
  10. Ahh to be friends with a cable guy. 60 bucks for a year of cable, not bad imo.
