There was a long thread back in January, with plenty of people chiming in on both sides. Personally, I think this could really fuck up your metabolism and when you start eating again, you'd just put any weight back on as fat because you won't process it correctly.

Pretty much what Graps said. Once you starve your body of the nutrients it needs it takes from your muscles. I would not ever recommend anyone ever doing this.

your not though, you provide your body with enough calories each day (about 650). So your not burning muscles. I'm more interested in breaking a cycle of poor eating and lifestyle

Using this diet though is not breaking a cycle, it is only perpetuating it. After the 10 days is over, you may be able to maintain healthy eating habits but eventually you'll binge and continue to binge because you tried to apply a temorary fix on a larger problem.

LoL @ thinking 650 calories is enough to keep your body from eating muscle, let alone with no protein or little to none..

Okay tell me where the protien is comming from on this diet? You do realize that all the lemon juice has a ton of acid in it that can harm your stomach lining? Also you are getting most of the Carbs from SUGAR (the maple sugar or whatever you sub for the sugar).

This also can cause SEVERE kidney problems and liver damage. So yeah you may break your cycle of bad eating by having to eat thru a tube the rest of your life.
I would rather make you a diet plan and exercise plan that could help you (ask steveM about my plans).
I am telling you this is another one of those wacked out diets that are wayyyyyy to dangerous for you. -
This cleanse is proven to harm your body. Pretty much everything chaz said. Just google it should come up with bad ideas. Starving your body is never a good idea.

I assume this is a weak solution to help keep electrolytes up? -
people are always looking for the quick, easy fix. 10 days and we'll be good to go.
the answer is a well balanced diet combined with an appropriate amount of exercise. -
this is absoluely correct, not only do you need protein, but there needs to be some baseline level of dietary fat intake as well for appropriate nutrient absorption- I think somewhere in the neighborhood of 25 to 30 grams per day. Without dietary fat, the muscles will diminish as well, and over a longer timeframe, you risk chronic disease.

This is also correct. I didnt add this in cause I am actually dizzy from thinking someone would actually think this is a good thing (this diet). Hell I can come up with a plan for people just using redline/trimspa/slimfast shakes and water and it would be 100% times healthier than what these guys are doing.

Look I am 100% serious if you want to eat healthier and lead a cleaner lifestyle I would be more than happy to take some time and work up a diet plan for ya. -

It's not a temporary fix. It's a fresh start. It cleanses your body and rids it of a bunch of shit. Gandhi was a proponent of this kind of thing.

Yes carter king and ghandi have alot in common.. besides the fact one is an active tourny player on the circuit and the other meditates in the mountains.
