i'm not going to do any quick research, but hasn't it been scientifically proven that it's slower to dive headfirst into 1st than it is to run straight through the bag?

one factor in diving is that it changes how the umpire looks at it and they might miss the call

MLB network is putting me on fucking rage tilt. why can't they just show the end of this game? they showed all of the boston game. and then the end of the fucking white sox game which is meaningless. no playoff ramifications but ozzie guillen got traded so GOTTA SHOW IT!

LaRussa over managing again. Tie game that has a good chance of going into extra innings you don't take out a star hitter like Berkman for a pinch runner esp if you are just going to bunt with the next batter. Also why the FUCK is Descalso pinch hitting for Freese in a huge situation? Descalso hasn't done shit in 3 months. Dotel made a bad play on that first bunt but they basically got lucky with that bloop double... I don't fault Dotel too much this game. We left soooo many runs out there tonight.
