highly doubt that

Also Arizona plays in a dome. WTF does heat have to do with anything lol.
  2. 1. This guy didn't "get only 17 games", in 4+ seasons. He never earned his way onto the field for more than 1 in 4 games. That's entirely on him.

    2. He wasn't saddled with insurmountable odds vying for playing time against the hall of famer... try selling that weak shit to Marc Bulger and Eli Manning.

    3. Whisenhunt has seen this kid go through literally thousands of reps over 3 years. I think he's a bit better qualified than anyone to make this judgement. I'll trust the guy that got the Arizona Cardinals within a possession of Super Bowl win.

    4. Matt was a known quantity. He was going to throw for 2600 yards and the Cards were going to win 4 games with him under center. Anderson has at least had some success in the league. The fucking guy got the Browns to 10-6. Sure he could lead the team to 12 losses as well, but there's at least the willingness to try to make a play, a willingness which Leinart never showed once in 4 years. And let's not forget that Anderson sucking coincided with Braylon Edwards dropping like 35 balls and 12 touchdowns over the last 2 years. At least with Anderson there is a POTENTIAL upside. Leinart has no upside. He will never take a risk to make a play. He will never try to win a game, just not lose it, like his job. Anderson might lose games, he might lose his job too, but at least he'll lose them giving a shit.

    5. The players clearly had no confidence in Leinart as evidenced by the fact that exactly zero players had anything supportive to say about him while the public and media ground their heels into this guy's nuts for the last 4 weeks.

I mean when Kurt Warner comes in for him when he's injured and leads them to a division title and then the Super Bowl the next year, it's pretty hard for you to reclaim your job. This is a ridiculous argument---Warner was one of the top 7 QBs in the league the last 2-3 years; the list of QBs that would've gotten the job back from him is very short.

    2. With the Cardinals' offense, he was able to flourish because he wasn't knocked around as much. Most people thought Warner was done w/the way he played in both St. Louis and New York. Also, see above.

He's a really inaccurate passer, but you're right, he will give a shit while sucking.

Look, I don't think Leinart is ever going to be a good QB in this league but your points about Warner/the 17 games are stretching it a bit imo.

I mean, the Cardinals were basically screwed no matter what once Warner decided to retire. Max Hall will be starting by the middle of the season, but hey if they go like 3-13, 4-12, they can draft either Locker/Luck/Mallett in next year's draft and start the process again so I guess that's something.

Arizona bust Leinart may be pretty similar to Kournikova

Sep. 5, 2010 TEMPE, Ariz. -- Maybe Matt Leinart should follow the career path blazed by former tennis star Anna Kournikova. He's already got the good looks. He had plenty of early-career hype, and in four-plus seasons in the NFL, he has enjoyed no measurable success.

Modeling could be a nice fall-back for Leinart. It might even become necessary if his next NFL stop doesn't pan out. At 27 years old, and with a growing load of unflattering baggage, the former Heisman Trophy winner is running out of options.
