  1. he's unreal. Hit the Borgata earlier in the year for about 6.5 mil in baccarat, then another 3 mil recently.
  2. 1st world problem
  3. best ever
  4. "His mother, Pamela Ivey, who lives in Las Vegas, said: "He never mentioned it. It can’t have been very important to him, or I think he’d have mentioned it."

11.5 million is being wrongfully withheld, and dude doesn't even breathe a word about it for six weeks. Such a bawse.
  5. What a PR move to put the money in escrow promised for FT players if they don't get reimbursed 100%?

Or the amazing timeline that maybe Ivey and all his millions are just because he is the greatest cheater of all-time.

  9. yeah, make ivey take his business elsewhere, sounds like a great plan for profit..
  10. Best part is that casinos don't like Phil ivey because he is a hit and run player. They want him to sit there and lose it all back and more if he gets up
  11. Where are the pics of this beautiful oriental woman he is paling around with?

it says he played for 2 days. he plays all over the world so these casinos should know he may not be in town for long. not like he wins one big double up and peaces out

I read the article, I know he played 2 days and the casino doesn't have a problem with him playing 2 days. It said he assured them he was going to actually play for some time and inferred they didn't want him to play there if he was going to hit and run. I think he does win one big double up and peace out, that is exactly what the article claimed. Plus that is what he did in the E60 or (w/e it's called) segment.

"Although he is a respected figure in the poker world, casinos regard him as a "hit and run" gambler, with a tendency to "quit after just a few hands if he wins big". On this occasion, Mr Ivey, a divorcé, assured Crockfords bosses that he would play for a serious amount of time, and transferred £1 million into the casino’s bank."

ok not exactly but pretty damn close, it doesn't specify double up. He probably buys in for a million and gets up 3 or 4 hundred K in 10 minutes and leaves. Like he did in the ESPN segment

  16. even if he is a hit and run player its not like its against the rules.
  17. I know, I have no issue with it. I don't care if people hit and run in poker cash game unless it is a home game. They still gotta put their money in the middle. What gets me is the casinos are so greedy they don't want him there if he will hit and run, they try to manipulate him to stay in order to play even though every bet he makes is negative EV

It's similar to card counting in that it's not against the rules, but if a house thinks this is happening, they have the right to refuse game play. Of course, they can't withhold any money they won, they just have to cut him off.

House probably doesn't want to pay it all out and is looking to make some deal with Ivey. Like he has to come back and play 20 more hours at similar levels or else they will pay him and then shut him out of all Mayfair locations.

  28. I like how if Brett Favre farts tomorrow and it sounds like he might want to come play football again, we would get round the clock coverage on every EsPn show.

But, this, the most interesting story in the world will get nothing nowhere.

Just read up a little on him and the FTP situation...but cliffs:

Owes FTP a lot of money(Rumors up to 9mil) And hasn't paid back as of yet...meanwhile traveling around playing super high roller tourneys and degening millions

Filed a lawsuit against FTP at one of the most fragile times possible in terms of the players being paid back and FTP finding a buyer.

Hasn't made any sort of peep regarding the entire FTP situation which I think is his duty to. FTP and the poker community made him who he is and between The lawsuit and his blatant unwillingness to give any sort of statement regarding this entire fiasco or the money he owes is absurdly selfish and self absorbed.
