FTP made Phil Ivey who is is!?!? Being the best poker player in the world made him who he is. He was the face of FTP because of his poker skill. He had nothing to do with their day to day decisions and owes us zero comment on that. That is like saying if Nike had an issue in the 90's that Jordan owed us a comment on their child labor or w/e issue. Who cares what Jordan has to say, he is only there for marketing. He isn't responsible for the operations of the company

  5. cheating thief gets cheated. tough break

  6. I deal alot of high stakes Baccarat and that is an insane heater. I read he played a total of 7 hours which on a fast moving game is about 7 shoes of Bacc. To be up that much in 7 shoes is really really sketchy at best. Or he just got hotter than anyone I have ever seen in my 7 years dealing the game.

  7. And seriously. This has to be insanely unprecedented to not pay out, right?
Especially by a casino that can definitely expect to get some bad press by doing so.
The possibility of Phil being a cheater is obv small but also is a little underrated imo.
  8. Ivey didn't fucking help things with his lawsuit against FTP and making it appear like he was doing it to help out players getting their money back. Fuck him!

  9. I had $1400 HKD (nearly $200 US) in promo chips for putting in cash game hours at Grand Lisboa in Macau but couldn't use them for poker. . Was told Baccarat was the best game in the room so sat own and ordered a Hoegaarden. The dealer didn't speak English and I had no clue what I was doing. Bet player a few times in a row and won, then switched to dealer. Didn't know what I was cheering for or what happened but she kept pushing me money. Was betting table minimum $100 per hand, won first 13 of 14 hands. Still had 13 promo chips to play. Ended up cashing $2700 HKD, was pretty thrilled with that. heater! only about 40 hands. Would have been happy with 1000-1500. Never played baccarat since and still have no idea how to play. Should learn. Biggest game in Macau by far. Only bullshit was they charged me for my beer wtf

if it's really this insane of a heater I can see the casino checking it out but come on, pay him in a reasonable amount of time - which was a long time ago.

really bad luck for the casino.
  11. You want your cards to equal 9. Face cards are 0. If you go over 9 on the two cards you just go to the single digit, so 7/6 = 3. There are specific rules for when you or the dealer takes another card. Nothing else to it - just put your bet up and hope you win. I'm sure someone will say there is a system just like if roulette comes up 30 reds in a row it has to be black, right?

  14. Asians are insane gamblers, I know they LOVE that shit. Like half the tables in Macau are probably baccarat. They have baccarat tournaments and people who claim to be professionals. Think it is the equivalent to the guy with a system who spends 60 hours a week at the craps table which is worse than WAR

We actually have a few games with a shoe with a scoreboard. They don't even have to write it down it does it all for you. Yet they still keep score lol. It's comical . There have been a few baccarat scams that I've known of. One the player actually had a device to read cards in shoe. Most are collusion with dealer. Another was i think in AC where the cards weren't shuffled at all and no one picked up on it til they won over a million.

  17. Good article on a scam that had some action at Foxwoods:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...S-history.html

"By 2005, when the crew moved into Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut, it had more than 40 people on board and was pulling an average of$50,000 every 10 minutes at the table.
Wanting more they moved on to blackjack where winnings are generally higher, but players are not allowed to write down the cards so the Trans had to change tactics.
They used hidden microphones with a tracker watching the order the cards were being dealt and reading them into the device while pretending to smoke a cigarette.
Outside the casino a second person would use a specially designed computer programme to talk to the tracker via an ear piece, reading out when and in what order the cards would come back out after the false shuffle.
Using hand signals the tracker would re-lay the information to others around the table.
‘Take a puff with one finger on, it says to make a bet. Take a puff with two fingers on the cigarette, that means to double down,’ Pete Casey, special agent for the FBI in San Diego, told ABC.
‘They started pulling a lot more money off the tables in a shorter amount of time.’"
  18. Casino is racist ldo.

    Lol @ not paying.

Wait are you really making the jordan:Nike::ivey:FTP analogy?

    .................

You're right. Taking distributions from FTP out of player funds to fund his degen habits and being bought into tourneys worldwide has nothing to do with FTP; just his skill. What about the millions he owes FTP?

No, he isn't responsible for the poor leadership of Full Tilt. Unless you can prove he was aware it was players money then he did zero wrong accepting the money and loans. Would be a fool if he didn't

I don't have a comment on the money he owes. Sounds like a court issue between him and fulltilt or the current owners. He knows his contract and has millions of dollars at stake so to say he is wrong to get lawyers involved seems ridiculous. Anybody of borderline intelligence would hire a good lawyer and follow their recommendations in his situation. Your well being isn't his responsibility. It's a nice utilitarian view but not reality. He's not Gandhi. He is a professional gambler

yeah theres a 5% commission on the banker bet.

Started surveillance at the trop a couple months back, and my director has been pretty hands on with me about different ways to cheat at baccarat (no more baccarat games in AC, all mini-bacc i think).

The stories he had were unreal. He went in depth with the story that skeeze described above. Another one would be collusion with the dealer. Before the cut card is put in the deck, the dealer would always straighten the deck on the side of the shoe. These dealers would do it slower, slow enough to get a look at 10 cards in a row. They would quickly memorize those cards, and would then be tapped out by the breaker or another dealer (bacc shoes are so big that they don't necessarily need to be tapped out right away). They would memorize the cards as if its a phone number, with face cards equalling zero. The dealer, being off the game, would text the number to someone in the casino. The player and his posse would sit at the game and wait for the first couple numbers of that sequence to come out.

Since bacc had set rules on when cards are drawn, as soon as the player would see the first 3/4 of that sequence, he would bet table max for two hands, knowing the outcome. In Macau, table max is a million, with 14 seats.

  27. i remember in high school me and this asian dude i was friends with played with a soccer team from kansas city in a tournament in Minnesota. the whole time the dad who drove us to and from minnesota kept referring to him as oriental. at one point he was even like I dont know if its right to call you oriental. I dont know if i should use that word or not. my friend was like noboody really uses it anymore. he was like its not a huge deal but it could be construed as kind of racist. the guy still kept calling him oriental after that anyway. It was kind of funny. guy didnt mean anything by it. just an older guy who didnt know better.

I wish I could understand why people think it's such an astronomical run to make 7 million euro when the limits got raised to 150k euro.
