  1. First vacation ever there. Had to change last minute from Destin to Myrtle Beach.

What are the casinos down there like? Regular table games? Poker?

I am staying at the Ocean Creek Resort.

Any other fun things to do besides the beach and golf?
  2. Casinos? lol I believe there is a boat that takes you out into international waters but casinos, lol...
  3. lol @ casinos

There's a boat that takes you to international waters to gamble.... pretty sure it has poker , but I'd google it
  4. We did the Sun Cruz casino boat deal a few years back - they had a tourney then $1/2 NL cash game after - some table games, etc. - pretty shitty, but better than nothing, I guess

    dis
  6. yea the sun cruz casino boat is it, they do have poker tho. tournys only on some days i believe but cash game on both trips every day
  7. There are some Nude clubs i believe down there for the other things to do part
  8. i've been on the sun cruise thing, i think its just on weekends they run a $110 tourney. It drew about 5 tables when i played it. I'll never forget the first hand, 1500 @25/50, 5 limpers and I look at QQ in the BB, i shove, ALL FIVE OF THEM CALL.

anyway they had a 1/2 NL and a 5/10 limit table running, lots of retired guys donating. You only get about 3-4 hrs of play time though iirc
  9. So, is the cruise thing worth taking? Gonna be there for 5 nights and think this might fill one night.

Looks like its only $10 a person

  10. yeah its great unless you lose all your money in the 1st hour and have to wait in a casino for the next 5 hours until you can get off the fucking boat!! lol
  11. if you want to gamble than this is your only option.

haha this - check their website - they stay out longer on weekends than during the week and tourneys are only certain days and you have to sign up in advance (or did back when we did it) - in looking at times, note that you don't start play until the boat us in international waters, so take that into acct
  13. Dude idk if the suncruz is still shut down or not but i went on the other baot (Big M i think) a few weeks back and it was not great...the food was terrible, there are a grand total of 2 poker tables, 1 is 2/5 NL and the other is 5/10 Limit...the only upside to this thing is that the players are terrible and its the easiest money you will ever make playing poker, but if you are going with your #1 goal being to have fun...do something else like going to broadway and getting hammered!!!!

Well, did you win the hand??
  15. Sun Cruz doesn't exist anymore in MB afaik. They have another boat there that has all the table games but no poker. Rumors that Sun Cruz went bankrupt/got bought out/moved ports earlier this year. I'm not exactly sure what happened.

absolutely not, K10 won with a K on the flop. I just remember pondering a raise to weed out a few players and decided they might all call so I should shove lol.

did well in the cash game after though.

Oh nice. Have you been out there since the re opening? And if so,is the poker room running like it was before?
  19. The fine state of south Carolina does not allow anyone to play any games of cards or dice. You have to hop on a boat for such activities. Praise da lawd. We also don't allow the purchasalizing of alcohol on Sundays. ::beats the bible a few times:: we also generally don't approve of businesses openin' there doors before 1:30 on Sunday (better get to church boy). Keep all those things in mind and plan according. And don't forget to praise god for such a fine state while you're here...

not yet, i was goin the other day and got there ab 5 mins too late(fml) boat was still docked. but the boat looked a lot nicer than the old one, im plannin on goin next week sometime
  21. Nice hidden Rick Roll itt.
  22. I went on the Sun Cruz Aquasino last night. It looks like they bought a ship from South Beach and haven't changed the chips or anything yet. They had a $100+20 tourney with 16 players paid out top 3 that started 5 minutes after the boat left the dock. They just take the money for the tournament an hour afterward and hold your license. Then they had a 2-5 cash (one table only) I think 15 max rake. I went out fifth in the tournament but won $350 back in the cash game. Soft game BTW.

Weird thing in general is that you can't "gamble" until 1 hour offshore with the exception of that tournament. So the normal casino and cash game occur 1 hour after leaving and finish the hour before the return. So you get 1 hour departure, 3 hours gameplay, 1 hour return. The first and last hour you either play a tournament or get wasted on the top deck.

  23. According to TripAdvisor (some travel website), it says that Myrtle Beach is the #1 spot for a beach vacation. Is this true?

I was thinking about checking it out sometime in the future. What makes Myrtle Beach so much better than say a San Diego or Florida beach trip?
