my long haired cat makes the same noises as the one in the OP but its always followed by her puking up a fur ball ... just fucking lovely

One of my roommate's cats frequently does this meowing thing where it sounds exactly like a really young girl saying "Hello?" in a really sad, lonely, I've-lost-my-parents sort of way. It freaked the fuck out of my gf and I when we first heard it.
