1. gotta be the first time in awhile the team with the best regular season record fires its coach

2. only took to long

3. Phi is the only one allowed to break after hours breaking news man

4. Ouch. #1 regular season record and your Team Captain was the MVP and you've won the Coach of the Year award (I think it was 08?) and you're fired? Damn. Did he really do that shitty of a job against the Celtics?
5. had to do it now to save $4.5M apparently (bucher i think said that)
2
6. lol at lebron's mom. swell job there ma'am.

7. At least 3 years too late. And yeah, I was saying that 3+ years ago too.
1
8. i'd love to know the logic behind breaking this at 2am cst, not like it's not going to get less media coverage because of it

As said above if they did not fire him by midnight they would have had to pay him an extra $4.5 mil
10. that guy is a complete clown, Cleavland should be thrilled
11. Yeah I am sure they are thrilled to lose Lebron and then max out Rudy Gay.

+1. Im not a Cavs fan, but Mike Brown is a defensive specialist with absolutely no knowledge on the offensive side. His end game strategy and setup plays were amazingly comical.

By chopping Brown before midnight, Cavs save $2.25 m, as they're on the hook for only half his salary.

Now they have a better shot at keeping the King in Cleveland.
17. Is he eligible to collect the maximum amount from Ohio Unemployment

Compensation ??

I really wanted to see the Cavs win a title but the Celtics were impressive.

So Bernie Kosar is Lebron now eh? Revisionist historyments

20. Que?

I was just referring to when he had a 13-3 or 14-2 record and got canned when they didn't make the Super Bowl w/ the Chargers.

I'm still scratching my head over that move considering they replaced him with a notorious loser in Norv Turner.
21. I never thought he was the greatest coach this definitely doesn't surprise me. Although this playoff letdown was far from his fault, he just had to be the scapegoat.

I actually feel a little bad for the Cavs, they are going from classy to ashy and quick. I just don't see Lebron coming back, which means Shaq is done (no big deal I guess), Jamison will probably sign elsewhere (he is still expiring I believe unless he signed an extension with them and I missed it) so they are left with a different coach, a shoot first point guard and an overpaid side show bob lookalike to go along with several role players who will be forced to be more than role players.
22. ya. chargers confused me. so did the browns and the cheifs with marty.

but mike brown blows. that's the consensus right?

Blows ... couldn't handle a reasonably deep roster ... is Offensively challenged etc etc .... What does it for me it that the guy isn't even involved in late game timeouts/huddles -- He will literally stand outside of everything late in games and just watch as the players discuss what's going on w/ <1min left in the game ... Thank God he's gone.
24. The Cavs fire Brown because he could never get them a championship in 5 years, but the Jazz keep Jerry Sloan???? I'm confused

also, The Cavs firing Mike Brown is a pretty good indicator that they don't expect Lebron to return - http://tinyurl.com/2waj62y - Unless they go out and get a REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, amazing coach that is a proven winner b4 July 1st

you shouldn't be.

the jazz continually do more with less. They have for 3 decades now.

Cavs paid 35325235235235$ in luxury tax money the last 2 or 3 years all while having the best player in the game on their roster. Obviously Mike Brown was not going to get it done and had no control of the locker room.

Jerry Sloan is the embodiment of scene control.

sick comparison. obviously its because Sloan is white and Brown is black. Errr Brown is Brown errrrr ughhh
27. got his butt whooped last year in the playoffs, happened again this year...mike brown ladies and gentlemen

28. I think if anything it gives the Cavs a better shot at keeping LeBron because basically he can single-handedly pick his own coach. That said I've always hated the way Mike Brown handled the offense and I'm pretty glad to see him go as a Cleveland fan.
29. Here. Comes. Calipari.

and I will laugh and laugh
30. Mike Brown goes out, in comes Phil Jackson high-jacked from the Lakers, LeBron stays in Cleveland, Shaq stays, everybody gets inspired and Cleveland goes back to the conference finals next season.....

and loses in five to the Celtics.

Rinse and repeat.
