That 12th rd was as exciting as any fight I've ever seen...just nuts

12th round put me in panic, had sizeable bets on Sergio and Sergio by Decision. Needless to say, I was shitting my pants watching JCC rally in the 12th, amazing finish, think my heartbeat was like 160 for a solid 10 minutes as I tried to process what had just happened.

Fuck I lovvvvvvvve boxing

My thoughts exactly. It was so one sided I almost stopped watching. Arum already said he's looking for a rematch next year in Cowboys Stadium. He says Jerry Jones called him after the fight and said they'd be able to get 100k people. I would guess if it does happen it would be May 4

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this was the largest purse Martinez has ever fought for and even as the favorite he received less money. The only reason for a rematch is for Martinez to get his payday bc in reality he only has a handful of quality opponents to choose from and Chavez will be financially the largest of those fights. On a boxing level I think Martinez should seek another opponent, but at 37 I have no problem with him getting the money he deserves in a rematch.

He said he would come down in weight to fight Mayweather.

Not at all interested in seeing a rematch. I was disappointed in Chavez, I know he hasnt faced world beater opposition but he was still an undefeated fighter and I thought he was really poor against Martinez even though he went the distance. Given his size advantage, I expected alot more. A rematch would do nothing for Martinez's legacy. I cant blame Martinez for chasing the money though.

Chavez tests positive for pot.

But what I love is Arum's quote here. There's smoking pot, and then there is admitting on a national level that you are a pot smoker. Really helps that the business of boxing is in the hands of people like him.
"The commission let (Top Rank's Carl) Moretti know (Tuesday) night that he tested positive," Arum said. "I can't really get excited about it. There's no promoter in boxing who could pass the marijuana test, including myself. -
Yea i saw that and had to read it like 3x
