A few friends and i are thinking about going to Chicago for for 5 days in march, what's the nightlife like there and would you guys recommend it? New York is the other option but ive have been there before and would like to go somewhere i haven't visited.
Thanks -
Chicago is best in the summer, but you can never go wrong. Can you time it so you go during St Pattys Day? Chicago does St Pattys as well as anyone and will help make your trip more memorable.
Obviously Chicago has amazing foods and would make sure you hit one staple restaurant a day. Please go eat a pizza at Lou Malnati's or your whole trip will be a FAIL. -
since chicago is the greatest city on the planet id say its a good place to visit...good nightlife, good food, lots of places to go, watch the best team in the nba, its all great

Be sure to visit the world famous "Crobar". If youre into the nightclub scene
-
I just went there for new years, think im going back next weekend for a bday party. Its always a lot of fun, take a look at enclave too if your looking for a club.
-
if u can wait til the cubs are at home in april, but your guaranteed to have a great time either way. the nightlife is always rocking no matter what

Hot Dougs is the place for hot dogs - but they are only open Mon - Sat from 10:30am - 4pm. And on Fri and Sat they cook the fries in duck fat.
BBQ? Go to Smoque. Ribs and brisket are delicious, and I could make a meal out of the side dishes alone.
St Patty's day is fun - the bar/party scene that weekend is great. However, summer time in Chicago is the best, and nothing beats a Fri afternoon game at Wrigley and hitting the bars afterwards. -
NYC>>> Chicago imo
-
Greatest city there is just listen to Frank...

Im as big a fan as there is, but they will be lucky to win 80 this year.

Have fun, man. Chicago is the nuts.
Hit Morton's for a nice dinner. If you're rolling deep, stay at the Drake or the W on Lake Shore like someone else said.
Either way, you can't F up Chi-town (EDIT: Unless you're the Cubs, ldo). -
Chicago is great, I've lived here about 2yrs now and loving it.
The only problem with your plan is the 5 days in March part...can still be really cold then, and not sure what you'd do for 5 full days. If it was summer, it'd be perfect, but in March aside from hitting up some great restaurants and partying at night, I don't know if you'll be able to fill the time every day with interesting things to do.
For 5 days in March I think NYC is a better bet since it won't be as cold and there are more tourist sites. -
stay at the W easily the best hotel
-
This by far cant believe you brought up Smoque phenomenal BBQ. Id hit up Crescendo, because its a ballin club as well. The Sheraton downtown is def the best bet for a hotel, plus you get Shulas Nationally famous steakhouse right there.

Try checking out a couple of schools and maybe spending some time there instead.

Museums of every kind you can imagine, ridiculous amounts of shopping, sears tower visit, bus tours, architecture tours. Theirs plenty to fill up 5 days, plenty to fill up a month, you obviously have not done enough with your 2 years in the CHI I lived there till I was 18 and there is plenty to do.

Got a nice, hearty chuckle out of this joke.

Lou Malanati's is overrated.
The W hotel is freakin amazing. Was there for a wedding, beautiful view. -
look up WB123456789 for a night at Cadillac Sam's, most underrated spot in the city
