Random gay marriage question:
Why are certain sects of Christians against gay marriage, but they don't want to ban other sins? So performing gay acts is a sin, but so is lying. Should we make lying illegal? Adultery? Skipping church to watch the Steelers game?
Is there some verse that says Christians have an obligation to illegalize gay marriage through the government? -
Screw you. I am intolerant of people who are intolerant of people who are intolerant of intolerant people.

LOLOL, so fricking funny how people cry out for Christians to accept anything and everything that is against their beliefs in the name of "tolerance" yet these same outspoken idiots don't see the irony that maybe others need to be "tolerant" of the values and belief system of those at Chic Fil A. -
Trying to make sense of christian logic is like trying to make sense of women logic... just a big waste of time.

Chicken on a sandwich is not natural. I cant believe how many of you fucking cretins eat chicken on a bun. Why taint the chicken that way? Disgusting. The only natural pure way to eat chicken is on the bone. My god says youre all gonna fucking burn for eating sandwiches. -
Couldn't really tell you. I think some sins are regarded differently.

Personally (as a Christian), I don't really care too much about the issue. I don't think banning gay marriage is any more discriminating than, for example, not allowing 3, 4, and 5 people to be married to each other. Why limit and define marriage to just two people? Why not let siblings marry each other?
Also, as a single man, I feel it's discriminatory to me that married people get special tax benefits solely for the fact that they are married. Of course, no one cares about that/me. -
So gay marriage is the same as incest and polygamy?
interesting -
Are they hot? I might explode.

lololol at self-righteous christians. hey brsavage, my religion says that I'm supposed to hate black people, asians, and northern europeans. tolerate meeeeee!!!! I pray to the bearded, white savior you'd be just as tolerant of muslims telling you it's okay to beat your wife because they aren't your equal.

no, maybe tolerance isn't quite the virtue you make it out to be. maybe taking a stand against an irrational hateful message really is a good idea, regardless of what some invisible being in the sky may or may not have told you.
I'll be starting my own tax-exempt church to keep blacks in their place. just let me know exactly how many liberties I can shit on in the name of religion. thanks man. -
I am all for a consumer boycott but this is ridiculous. Doubt a ban like this gets upheld in court. Government cannot discriminate against a business based on that business holding unpopular beliefs. Shit like this is BS.

Obviously not. Having tolerance for people who want to take the liberties of others away is absurd and a ridiculous rational.

Edited By: ECUgirl Aug 2nd, 2012 at 07:35 PMNo, there's not. This is one of the points I've tried to make with my friends and family who want to ban gay marriage. I think it's completely silly and a waste of time. As Christians, we should be spending our time and resources feeding the hungry, ministering to the sick and oppressed, loving and accepting people as they are, and all the other things Jesus said to do. It really upsets me that they seem to focus on this issue so much. Doesn't really align with Christ's message imo.Originally Posted by Pghfan987

hey if you guys wanna bang your sister Im all for it
how do you suppose polygamists get divorced? how does that work?
Im really a noob at this stuff -
Same way as anyone gets divorced. Are you ok with a dad marrying his daughter?
-
lol
Yes Daniel, it wasWouldn’t it be funny if brsavage got raped by, like, five guys right now? Like right now?
-
all fucking marriage is a joke. its rediculous that law has to be involved at all.
-
unless chick-fil-a is using their business to push forward an anti gay hate agenda, i don't really see why this is becoming a big deal. sure they said some shitty things, and are facing backlash, and support, but are they putting signs up saying 'no gays allowed' or 'got hates fags' on their menu? I wish americans got this heated up about gay rights within the election process as they do about a fucking chicken restaurant. at this point pro and anti gay activists are just passive aggressively at war with one another. at what point does it turn violent?
-
does donating millions of dollars to anti-gay organizations/campaigns count?
-
Polygamy (the kind where knowledgeable consenting adults decide they want to be married to each other, not the kind where a bunch of creeps move to the middle of nowhere so they can rape 14 year olds with relative impunity) should be legal.
Incest is a much closer question...the obvious argument against it is the biological one, but then if you're going to ban incest for that reason then it seems like you would have to ban people with inheritable genetic diseases from getting married too, which has typically proven to be a bad idea that tramples all over peoples' rights when its been tried. Haven't decided what I think about this (as a matter of policy, obv as a matter of best practices I think going around fucking your relatives isn't the best idea in the world).
But regardless, comparing gay marriage and incest is absurd and incredibly insulting. -
chicken is good but only if its fried.
finally something we can all agree on. -
I think there's a difference between being "anti-gay" and being against legalizing gay marriage. They're not trying to outlaw homosexuality, they aren't saying people have no right to be gay, that gay people aren't welcome in their restaurants, that gay people are horrible people, or anything of the sort. They simply believe that a legally recognized marriage should be between one man and one woman only. I don't agree with their stance, but I do wish people would quit making it out to be something that it's not.
