  3. Trade up and get RG3 and then run the spread obv

Is Freeman good for Kelly's style? What about Campbell from OAK?

hmm time for an official rumor/ signing day thread yet?
  5. LS, why do you not like Chip Kelly going to Tampa Bay?

    Freeman can run that offense.

Please don't ever mention Campbell in conjunction with Tampa Bay EVER again. Thanks.
  6. coachesbythenumbers just speculating:

Early names we are thinking of for Oregon: Troy Calhoun, Chris Petersen, Gary Patterson, Art Briles, June Jones, Kyle Whittingham

  7. Freeman can't.

    Josh Johnson though.
  8. if you're actually going to speculate about QBs (though i think freeman will be fine there), isn't the obvious choice darron thomas? (note: this is directed at everyone but niceguy)

  9. Page 1 though.
  10. wish him the best! great timing for everybody else in college football.

i think he will do well in tampa. very young team will definitely buy into what he is selling and will play hard for him imo. Tampa as seen in 2010, is very close to being a legit playoff team. this could put them over the top.

tough break for oregon. just before signing day is not good. also not good that a lot of the big names have been snatched up already. can definitely see petersen going to oregon. knows the area, recruits that part of the country well, and is a big time name that would be able to take the pieces already in place there and run with it.

dark horse: dan mullen from msu? he is a great coach and is just an offer away from being at a top notch job.

    .

I like watching Oregon...college football just got a bunch less fun if this is true.
  12. I think the youth movement in Tampa fits with Chip Kelly's style out of the gate. What will be interesting, is seeing what he does with what he has as of right now.

I see a lot of roster changes coming on offense, and its very much needed. Blount is not a #1 back, and I've been saying it all year. Blount is a Brandon Jacobs type of back, and needs to be relegated to 3rd down duty. Someone like Lamar Miller ( homer Miami pick, I know), who is more versatile and catches well, would be a much better #1 back. I was really liking Earnest Graham before he got hurt, and the consensus of the players is that he has been teh best back in Tampa for 3 years, but hasn't got the nod.

The defensive secondary needs to be addressed in a big way.

If Graham isn't healthy for the coming year, given the severity of his injury, RB needs to be addressed.

Mike Williams needs a deep threat opposite him, because I don't think he stretches the field enough. Arelious Benn needs to go back to the slot position, where he was a beast in college, and should flourish in his 2nd season post knee injury.

Luke Stocker needs to stay healthy, and he will be a beast at TE. Kellen Winslow needs to hit the road, and take his cancerous attitude with him (sorry bro).

The Offensive line needs help on the left side, opposite Davin Joseph (only pro bowler on team this year).

So yeah, there are some big holes. Lets hope the draft fills some of those needs, Benn becomes the WR I hope he can be, Stocker stays healthy, and Freeman loses his cockiness from this season and actually puts in more work.
  13. About a year ago Kelly was asked on the local sports radio station about his interest in the NFL. He basically said he would be intrigued to coach at the highest level. Same interview he said he would not run the same offense exactly as he runs it at Oregon. He would take parts, but runs what he does at Oregon because it fits their personal.

Also, Chris Petersen, Jeff Tedford and Tony Dungy are the names being thrown around here right now. Dungy has son on the team.

To PHI, not a done deal as of yet. He has an almost 4 million dollar buyout, and made 3.3 mill last year at Oregon. Uncle Phil still has time to pony up some cake.
  14. the bucs are def. gonna be in the running to get RG3 now. if they got him, his duels with Cam and Brees would be so awesome to watch. if they don't get RG3 i don't see this ending well. bucs don't have a lot of team speed, and i don't see his style working in the nfl. regardless, great day to be a trojan.

    one time?

    wow, pretty crazy.

And to those saying the Bucs should trade up and grab RG3, don't forget the fact that they used their 1st round pick two years ago on Freeman. It would be an awful move to give up on Freeman this early unless they can somehow move him and get something in return.

Faaaaaaaaack! Bucs just got dealt a bad beat. Was looking forward to Chip coaching TB
  19. Big time college coaches got it too good to leave for the NFL. You have all the control, make all the decisions and get paid well and treated like a king as long as you keep winning which is easier to do in NCAA than NFL. I dont blame him for staying.
  20. can't blame him for staying, esp since he is at Nike U, but ffs I was excited to see the offense he could bring to the NFL

Just can't get caught cheating in recruiting.
  22. These "[COACH} about to sign with [NFL TEAM]" threads are the new "OT Lock of the Century" threads.
