I would belittle you as to how obviously made up everything in this link is related to numbers/odds are, or how hilariously miscalculated they are even IF all the stipulations are true.

Just studied Daniel and found it pretty amazing. The prophecies about Jesus in the OT are also pretty amazing. You can read more about the prophecies and the mathematical odds here:

This reminds me of that thread were the religous nuts still thought the world was flat and at the center of the universe.

It's sort of sad that an attempt to get the lols gets 100 responses, but a young girl in critical condition isn't on the first page. Guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Dyz does not live in Canada. Besides, he is not defined by where he lives.

I would enjoy reading norcaljeff set us all straight on Christianity.

It also leaves a system where a rapist, as long as he believes, can get into heaven forever, but a charity worker who doesn't, get's to go to hell to be tortured for ever. Seems legit for a caring loving being.

We get so bad that our creator, who created us precisely this way and knows precisely what we will do at all conceivable times and places, decides to destroy us and start over. For thousands of years we suffer in our sin until finally our creator sends himself to sacrifice himself to himself so that we can be saved. And this is the best system that an omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent creator can come up with? I guess that is why they call it faith.

hey, when its your turn to be God, you can make the rules anyway you wish and the opinion of your rebellious children wont change a thing. you wont need anyones permission. you will be God! at that point your logic will be all that matters. until then, if there is a God, we will ALL fall under His guidelines. like it or not.

I bet you think HE is white with a long grey beard

pretty sure thats the same logic used by the MEN who actually wrote the bible. it was their turn to be god. we should all obey them!

For alot of people who condemn the US trying to force democracy upon the world as a whole, and Christianity for spreading it's believes... you all (90% of OT it seems) are sure good at forcing your views of religion upon others. Tremendously hypocritical.
Also to the idiot who wants the NE, Cal, and OR to secede... you're just as bad as those moron Texans who have a large Texas flag with the word 'SECEDE' on the back of their 50ft monster trucks rolling down the highway. Just STFU and go back to your corner.
Have a blessed day!

yeah but our believes > christian believes ainec
-
No one is born an atheist, they learn NOT to believe. People choose to become atheists.
-
This is just wrong. Atheists (who i assume you are addressing) don't "force" their beliefs on anyone. They simply tell other to use their brain and think logically about something. The reason you think we are forcing our belief's is because logic directly contradicts religious dogma.

There is a difference between a Muslim saying to a Christian, "Our religion is right, yours is wrong" and an Atheist saying "why don't you take a step back and think about your belief logically for a second."
You see that right? -
"You all are hypocrites for pushing your views on other people...now here are my views"

The implicit assumption being that those who hold those perceptions do so because they have never been challenged. It couldn't possibly be that they have heard the challenges, weighed them accordingly, and found them wanting. It's just that they haven't heard rayspizza's wisdom, and once they do the scales will fall from their eyes.

*sigh*...now I have a choice between blocking rayspizza and scales falling from my eyes

and I lived in Texas for a dozen years and never saw one of these giant "secede" flags you referenced. I'm sure they exist tho. saw a bumper sticker or 2 over the years -

The idea of a higher power or creative force would be done a great service if religious people didn't think that some guys with relatively little knowledge of how the universe works had gotten it infallibly right a few thousand years ago.
Religious people should maintain their faith in "God" while allowing their definition of that extremely complex concept to he somewhat malleable. To hold onto such concrete ideas in light of new advancements in knowledge is hard headed. It leads to conflict of all kinds from relatively small to massive, but all of that conflict is a problem for religion.
So hold onto your faith in a greater, creative plan, but don't dumb it down to some judgemental external being that seems kinda fickle and intolerant of his creation.
