Do you guys think they win AFC North this year?
Toughest schedule in the NFL (only one team they play with a losing '05 record (Cleveland)
Status of Palmer is iffy
Problems with WR Chris Henry, LB O'Dell Thurman, and other criminals..
Acquisition of Dexter Jackson, and Sam Adams bolster Defense
Signing of the Offensive Line solidifies protection for Carson. -
They won't. They will be like the '04 Panthers.
-
They will fight for a wild card spot. I hate the Steelers but they always find a way to win the division and Baltimore should be improved. AFC is tough and so much better than the NFC.
-
Yea, too bad big ben didn't die..
-
LOL Sam Adams gained a ton of weight in off season. he was onsidelines during practices and had at least 4 chins going. Man def has alot of work to go to get even close to game shape.
-
I think they go 1-3 the first 4 games with Thurman out. They are facing 4 offenses that rely on the run totally and with a backup MLB in the middle, I see them getting run over.
-
not a chance. they got lucky to win it last year. if "Trash Can" Tommy Maddox wouldn't have played at all, they would not have lost that game Jacksonville. Also, the mysterious 49 extra seconds added to the clock in the fourth quarter of the Pats game (when they kicked a FG with 1 sec remaining). Steelers should have been 13-3.
-
My crystal ball is in the shop. I get it back on Thursday.
I'll let you know. -
Steelers will run away with division
-
Haha..
Only reason steelers made it to the superbowl is because Kemo von break-carson's-acl-hoeffen. If palmer doesn't go down, I don't doubt that the Bengals triumph...
I mean HELL, Kitna almost beat you guys
and Palmer > Kitna.
Steelers lost a key element in their team by not keeping Randle-El. Polamalu is awesome and I would love for him to be in the Orange and Black, and Bettis is a class act. Hines Ward is as hard and tough as any other receiver in the league, but I'm unconvinced that the Steelers didn't get "lucky" in their Superbowl year.
WHO-DEY -
Or because that guy from the colts who picked up de bus's fumble had been repetedly stabbed in the knees by his wife like the day or a few days before the game.
hes at full speed and he take its by big ben prob.
Btw im sure this was well covered at the time, but how about the guy in steelers bar who had a heart attack when the bus fumbled. Now thats a fan, if, nay when i have a heart attack I hope it is related to something like that. -
Yeah that heart attack fan was rather crazy...
-
first off, the steelers are the better team. second, if they don't reverse that BS interception by troy then game is over right there. third, 27-4 as a starter, amazing.
who ghey! -
Ravens win this division. I am NOT a Balitmore fan (I'm pulling for Cincy or Pitt actually) but here is why:
1) McNair has a HUGE chip on his shoulder- one of the toughest QB's in the NFL will give Todd Heap a Career year
2) Jamaal Lewis no longer in agony from Anal activity he received in prison- can you imagine how much easier it will be for him to run?
3) Defense is FIERCE- Ray Lewis is PISSED and wants to win, Ed Reed is the best Safety in football, D Line is revamped and should free up their linebackers to better attack run games of Pitt and CIncy.
This is the classic turn-around team for 06.

Ed Reed isn't the best in his own division, certainly not in the NFL. I take the "Burghs" D over Balt's anyday of the week. Huge chip on shoulder with one person to throw to = Alex Smith. Ravens will finish in 2nd.

sry man but Ed Reed Ownz........1.Pitt 2.Cincy3.Balt4.Cle

Troy P. = +EV
Ed R. = -EV
facts are facts -
so they both can't be good?
-
Troy P= +EV
a healthy Ed Reed=++EV
facts are facts.......
BTW......if it wasn't for Troy's hair he wouldn't be getting all the hype that he gets.......I'm not biased either because i am also a polamulu fan, just saying Ed Reed Ownz even tho i hate baltimore -
"if it wasn't for Troy's hair he wouldn't be getting all the hype that he gets......."
can you humor us and prove that? stats, phone taps, etc..... -
Baltimore is a mystery to me. Yes McNair has a chip on the shoulder...but he's been around the block more than a few times and I question if he has the ability to 'suck it up' and give it one last hurrah. I don't think Jamal Lewis will ever regain his pre-prison form. IF...and that's a big one, McNair can stay healthy he will have some weapons on offense to throw to, he already has a repoire with Mason from their Titans days, also Mark Clayton showed flashes of brillance last year. Heap staying healthy is a must obviously. The defense will be freakishly nasty this year, the D line had monster upgrades with the signing of Trevor Pryce and the drafting of Ngata. Lewis should be back and ready to go and the secondary will be stout as always with McAllister, Reed, and Rolle. I think you can put the Ravens as a sleeper, but I think it's still Pittsburgh's division to lose.
-
No im sry im not gonna tap troy's phone or get stats on the length of his hair, but i'm sure i will hear multiple times this season while watching the games"Hey there's that guy with the hair. I've heard about him.He must be good"
-
i'm pretty sure that nobody in the league can do what Troy does. his athletic abiltity and his insticts are amazing. he can play any postion, LB, CB, Saftey, even will line up on the line. he can do it all. his hair makes him stick out. i'm sure that offenses don't worry about where Ed is as much as they about Troy. now that's a fact.
-
I disagree, I think Reed is as talented as TP, Troy got a ton of buzz due to the Steelers' run last year, which he was an integral part of last year. Although Troy gets alot of credit, and rightfully should, Pittsburgh's defensive success is predicated on the ability to get tons of pressure from their LB core which was fantastic last year. It's alot easier to play center field when the other teams' QB is running for his life. While Reed didn't get a lot pub last year, I think it just goes to show what a quality LB core can do for a secondary. I still think Reed is one of the top 3 safeties in the league. An offensive coordinator would be an idiot to not account for Ed Reed on every play.
