is it me or is the Reds pitching been real horrible as of late. i dont even see a clear cut number one pitcher out of this group. im even more amazed at St louis not being able to gain any ground. im going to the game on monday when they host the diamondbacks and i would like to see something that will change my mind
-
140 games in, 6 game lead, I'd say they're for real.
-
yes theyre real. would not be surprised at all to see them in the nlcs or ws
-
They had the best record in national league until a few days ago. They crush who they should crush. There only problem is agianst teams who are in contention. There pitching isnt amazing just steady. Which could be a problem in the playoffs. They will win the division easy. The biggest problem I have with people in Cinci is all the doom and gloom everytime something happens. I mean the Reds are headed to the playoffs for the first time in 15 years and you would think someones kid was just shot,The way people act around here.

Like baughman said...they beat the teams they are supposed to beat. That's the problem the Cardinals have had in trying to catch them...Pittsburgh, Washington, Houston, Chicago, etc.
Anyway...doubt anybody in the NL can sniff Philly's jock in the postseason. Especially with how well Hamels has looked lately. -
for real
-
I wish I could argue with you, but the way things have gone, it looks evident the Braves will do their usual swan-dive-and-out in the first round if they make the play-offs. Philly is better than the Reds and Cards. Philly in the WS vs the Yankees. Yankees win in 6. Yawn.

votto is clear cut mvp. he doesnt have the luxery of carp, wainwright, garcia, westbrook either
-
I didn't say I'd vote for him, but I guarantee you he is in the very thick of the discussion.

How in the world do you infer that I hate the Reds by that statement? All I was saying is that Carlos Gonzalez is having a MASSIVE series against the Reds in must-win games for the Rockies.
The only person I detest on the Reds is Brandon Phillips...and I already hated him before anything happened. He is a complete joke of a human being. After that series, I wish Johnny Cueto would get hit by a bus, but that's only because he fights like a complete bitch.
Other than that, I have nothing against the Reds. Hell...half of your squad helped the Cardinals win their last world title. -
I wouldn't count the Rockies out yet. They still have games left against the teams they are chasing and both of the series are in Colorado where the Rockies are very tough.
-
The Reds are frauds. they will lose in the first round
-
Why would Cards be in any position to make headway? Even with three starters having ERAs below 3.00, a monster at first, and an excellent hitter in left, tough to overcome below-average production at the other infield or outfield spots.
-
CarGo 4 MvP tho......
-
The Cardinals suck balls right now and have no chance at catching them. Add to the fact that theres no way they get past Philly in the playoffs. All this equals it not even mattering if they are for real. It's gonna be the same outcome regardless.
-
CharliehUstle44 for HOF tho..... Go CarGo!!!!!!
-
the reds wont do well in the playoffs because they lack a top of the line #1 pitcher. their offense and bullpen and middle of the rotation is very strong
-
Yes they are for real.
Until the Phils clobber them in the playoffs. -
fights like a complete bitch? did you watch that game and see how the entire pile pushed him into the backstop into the netting where he was pretty much on his back? Cueto is probably 5'10" a buck 80. He had no other choice but to start kicking people who were trying to throw hay makers. Mind you, he did have spikes on but if i'm getting pushed into a screen with only my legs being my weapon you know damn well you would kick to defend yourself.

I hope we don't have to have this debate all over again.

I just wish the Reds would have a collapse like the Cardinals just did.
If the Cardinals had anything that resembled a middle infield, they would never be in this position, but they are. It's unfortunate too, because our starting pitching is really good (at least top 3, and 4 prob does enough to keep us in games), but they pitch to contact, which means our horrible (worst Cardinals defensive team I have seen) defense gets overexposed. And they don't even make up for their horrible defense with their bats. I'm really at a loss this year, it's a very frustrating team. They have some elite players and some really bad players, it's like there is no in between. Sigh end rant/ -
way to blow a 5-0 lead, and what the hell was masset doing while that guy was stealing home..
