  1. word is someone put in a claim and he didnt clear waivers... should here what team it was shortly

  2. Happens every year, with just about every team. Some teams put their whole roster on waivers.

  3. any guesses? I'm going to say the Dodgers

yea that is true but in this spot phillies can let him go and not pay the rest of that huge contract?

  5. Yankees 1 time.
  6. He was claimed off waivers and the phils pulled him back, sending blanton to the dodgers.

Dodgers already claimed Blanton, then got him via trade. PTBNL + Cash.

That means they can't trade Lee to anyone except the team that claimed him, right? He would have had to have cleared totally to be trade eligible?

  10. He is owed approximately $95 million through 2015. This would then lead him up for a trade. He has a no trade clause to block a trade to 21 teams. The identity of the teams is unknown but he can waive his no trade clause. If he does clear waivers teams have until August 31st to complete a trade.

Correct. The Phils can choose to let him go without a trade, and the team that claimed him would be on the hook for the rest of that contract.

  16. Don't want him on the Yankees if his wife is gonna still be a snooty bitch.
  17. Redsox gonna trade Beckett for him
  18. Lee wasn't pulled off waivers.

He was fed to Blanton so he could survive the 6 hour flight to LA.
  19. Lol if Amaro pulls him back. The biggest issue the Phils are facing are huge amounts of payroll commitments to old players that will take years to get off the books. Some team just handed you a reset button. HIT THE BUTTON!

    LOL
  21.

5:16pm: The Dodgers were awarded Lee's claiming rights, tweets Jon Morosi of FOX Sports. This means that all NL teams with a record worse than the Dodgers' 56-50 mark (every NL team except the Reds, Nationals, Pirates, Braves, Giants and Cardinals) first passed on Lee.
5:06pm: The Phillies don't see a trade as very likely, reports Jon Heyman. The Phils also aren't likely to just let Lee leave to the claiming team without getting anything back in return.

    .......

Right. He either goes to the Dodgers or is a Phillie the rest of the year.
  26. i feel like a lot of people don't understand how waivers work after the deadline. of course he was put on waivers. of course somebody claimed him, but odds are he remains a philly. I dont think philly is looking to just shed themselves of his contract for nothing. He still obviously has tons of value going into the future so they mostly put him on waivers hoping to work out a big trade with whatever team claimed him.
  27. If we somehow get him w/o having to give up Lee, Webster, or anybody on the 25 man roster (except Uribe) I will jizz my pants. The new owners have demonstrated that they don't give a shit about the money, they want to bring the Dodgers back to their past glory.

All waivers does is allow teams to claim, Its kinda like the first kid to date a girl at school once the word is out everyone wants to date her. (these always end up in a trade)

Dodgers got that massive TV money coming that anahiem is tossing around. (salary caps coming soon.)
  29. Salary caps coming soon? Do you know anything about the MLBPA? Oh, and btw, the Rangers signed a fairly impressive deal that they'll be reaping the benefits of in the near future.
