  1. Last week was the ten year mark of starting chemo after being diagnosed with Stage IV B lymphoma. Somehow, I beat it, after a brutal 3 year war.

I quit my treatment and had no support services. I became a pill popping, drunk insane person from 2006-2009.

I quit using painkillers in late 2009, cold turkey. I quit hard liquor Feb 2010, cold turkey. I used to parachute hydro's with shots of jose', I wonder how I am alive.

Tonight, I will quit drinking wine, cold turkey, for the entire month of June. It needs to be done as I am drinking 3-4 liters a night, that is insane.

This thread is the opposite of all the entertaining degen threads that I have enjoyed lately.

Writing this thread helps me and it will be my blog, just kinda like self therapy.

I have major issues with sleep and expect the next few nights to be tough.

Thought about making this a June not thread worthy post, but felt this would be better for myself.

Please use the big red X if this thread bores you.

    Much love!
  2. Good luck!

but all this talk about "cold turkey" has me hungry now.
  3. Somehow I don't believe you were drinking 4-5 bottles of wine a night by yourself...
  4. hmmmmmmmm turkey!

  14. best of luck, OP. be sure to stretch~

  15. Good luck OP. Wine is sneaky as fuck.
  16. were you the one who said you quit drinking and now you only drink wine once in a while?

and I told you that you should quit that as well, it can only lead you back down a negative path.

    was that you?
  17. why are you quitting cold turkey when it's known that alcohol withdrawal is deadly? You're not some college jackass who is making a thread about quitting beer cuz you slammed a case of natty a night for 2 weeks...you're slamming 4 bottles of wine a nigh for what seems like many months minimum, this is different. Do some research and come up with a real plan you fucknut.

    Use brain please...

Yeah, I recall you telling me that.

Slept a couple of hrs, vivid stuff.

I understand it is a risk going cold turkey, but so was the liquor and pill cold turkey move.

I have no heath insurances and can't use any hospital/facility.

  22. Wine? Wine??? You ever suck dick tor wine, man?? Boo this man!!

  23. there is a difference between drinking wine every night, and drinking all day every day. if you don't wake up with shakes in the morning and start drinking asap, you aren't gonna die from withdrawals.

    drinking every night = abuse.
drinking all day every day and getting the shakes when you don't = dependence.
  24. (abuse+dependence) / dependence > healthy intake
  25. Up after a few hours of good sleep. I woke up wired and will go to the gym. I have never had the ability to drink during the day and always hydrate intensely in the AM. Thanks for the wishes, here we go.....
