Surprize surrrrrrprize!! BHO
-
I'm going to hope you don't think it's because of the color of Obama's skin that he would support him. I'd hope you have some intelligence and realize that Powell is more respectable than that.
-
Of course not, Rock. I think that Colin had a change of heart and decided to support someone who's never been in the service when it's been John McCain's life while we are in the middle of two wars. I think Colin must have decided that redistributing the wealth (socialism) is a MUCH better idea than capitalism. I think he had great reasons as a Republican to vote for a democrat. But skin color never entered my mind.`
-
GG credibility. Nice try at sarcasm.
Keep thinking that though. I know how bias can blind someone.
Signed:
-Disgruntled Republican that thinks they could have done much better than choosing a non-conservative to be at the top of their ticket, yet can't support Obama for obv reasons- -
Btw, maybe his support goes to Obama for the simple fact that McCain is not actually a Republican and he doesn't think McCain is worth two shits?
-
Hi HelenRNurse. Remember when you were trying to be the grammar police? I do.
There is no fucking 'z' in 'surprise.'
GFY -
Well hey, the Tampa Tribune has now supported McCain. Must be because he's white.
-
Let me know how you feel in 4 years when left leaning Obama rubber stamps all of the spending & throwing money of hardworking Americans at liberal causes the left democratic congress does.
Hopefully this country is strong enough to survive if we are unlucky enough for Obama to be elected. -
I know this isn't going to happen, but if Powell was the candidate for the Repubs...GG Obama.
-
<sigh>......watching Meet The Press now.
-
Here it comes..........
-
You know, I'm not a huge Republican or Democrat, but this is the stupidest thing...I mean, I'm assuming you elected and re-elected George Bush, who dodged National Guard service. Now all of the sudden when it's one way you can one up your opponent its a huge deal, military experience.
Furthermore, bringing up his middle name constantly as if its a reason to not vote for him is so racist and our children will be ashamed of us when they read about how white people brought up his middle name "Hussein" repeatedly, as if him having a name that is not European in origin predisposes him to being evil. -
"difficulty with 2 more conservative appointments to the Supreme Court...." WTMF!???!!
Ugh, changing the channel now. -
So it's Obama because he wants liberal judges and he really, really loves the Islamic faith? My God help us all.
-
THis really sucks it! I used to think Powell had integrity. So lame.
-
I have a new conspiracy theory. This Obama election has a JFK feel to it. Some say the Mafia hand picked JK and put him into office.
I think there is a small group that handpicked Obama at this time to lead as a "face" or salesman to sell us the democratic polocies that will be put in place by others, not him. Watching how well he performs when prepared and how he contradicts himself when unprepared is fishy. It shows he really don't know what he's supposed to say at given times. Picking Biden whom he really doesn't even seem to like was not his choice but the choice of those that will eventually really be leading the country. Let's just hope there is a method to their madness. How bad is McCain for Powell to endorse a Dem.
I give this theory about a 5% chance of being true, and if true, Obama does not survive his term. -
First, HN, you are just a plain ole bore. Nothing more nothing less. And the rest of you who are now applying a first coat of spin by attempting to defame Powell are downright the ones' who are selling out.
I can remember before today's endorsement, "Powell is a man of integrity". "Or he is one of the last respected political figures in Washington". Now, he is a fraud? I am just a bit disappointed that I am not at home this morning to see how Fox News will spin this endorsement? lol
Powell spoke out as to how he felt. Notice how those who disagree with the endorsements do not address his comments on McCain or (that woman!) but try to put attention on his comments about the Supreme Court. I would much rather have a balanced Supreme Court of 5-4 in either direction than a 6-3 or 7-2 ratio. Should Obama win and appoint two lefties he would actually be replacing those of the same ideology.
I read on another post that said, this means nothing until Condi Rice endorse Obama? Why, so the same people can say that this is racially motivated? How about the fact that people like Chuck Hagel(and wife), a Republican Senator are saying that Obama is the better choice? I guess they are insane, huh? -
I really think the endorsement was more Anti-Palin than a Pro-Obama. McCain's decision to pick Palin left him open to this type of thing. This is very damning to the repub's cause. I am one of the people that have a great amount of respect for Powell and listen intently to what he says. A lot of independents just switched.
-
It's so fucking sick how racist people still are. Disgusts me.
-
I think it was the left who first and most loudly called Colin Powell a fraud. You can't have it both ways.

Hay Guys! What's going on in this thread?
-
How many people here actually sat and listened to what Powell said? I'm guessing few.
He stated numerous clear and concise reasons for why he wasn't endorsing McCain and it's pitiful that any Republican would immediately turn their back on him simply because he doesn't think the party is headed in the proper direction and would go further off-course under McCain/Palin.
If Powell ever runs for President, no matter what party he represents, I'm voting for him. He actually cares more about this country than himself. There aren't many politicians you can say that about. -
helen what specific reasons do you think powell endorsed obama?

You are right. I am no lefty. That has never been my opinion of Powell. I think that Gen Powell was placed in a bad situation. He has hinted that with his "I was disappointed..." comments. I believe that he maintained his integrity by saying "I'm outta here.." at the end of the first Bush term. He felt he had joined a gagglefuck of numbskulls and said he wouldn't be a part of it.
Having served in the military, I can only imagine the internal conflict that went on within his person. He ultimately succumb to the role of "good soldier" and carried out orders to sell the war which he later revealed that he wasn't wholeheartedly into.
I am seeing all across the net how the Fox sniffers are attempting to downplay this endorsement. This endorsement has merit with Independents. Only those who attribute this to race will see this as otherwise. And I am of the opinion that they are bigots anyway and weren't voting for Obaman regardless. I consider them in the class of McCain, Paul or stay at home. lol
I wonder how Frau Palin is gonna spin this one about Powell.
[Palin] ...and did you hear that Obama has received the endorsement of Gen Powell?..." (yells of traitor are heard in the background). Ya kno... he's not one of us. The good ole, hardworking, down home Americans like John McCain and myself..." -
Helen R Nurse:
"Cuz Powell is an Arab too."
I'm pretty sure Helen was that old lady we saw at teh McCain rally. -
Look at McCain's record on voting on Vet issues. I can't see why any Vet would support McCain.
