1. Ravens have some secondary and linebacker injuries.

I'm trying to figure out why this is a trap and keep myself from putting my entire bankroll on it.

    Help!
  2. Prolly has a little to do with the Colts coming off such a huge win vs NE. Expecting a let down maybe?
  3. Look at last weeks Green Bay Dallas game as a reason why you should never bet on Sports.

  4. with that said, a ton of "trap" games this year the favorite has covered. Bad year for the sportsbooks, great year for Joe sportsbettor
  5. Ravens are desperate and at home

    see-GB vs. Dallas

that being said, I think this is a stay-away

  7. let it ride imo
  8. Fuck it - I just put a unit on it. Peyton will beat any tarp that comes his way.

plus a short week and travel for the colts, also, walking into baltimore and winning, when they are pissed, isnt as easy as it sounds.
  10. RAVENS were -1 over Colts earlier in the week. Colts will win

    shorter week for Balt.

That said, the Ravens need this game much more than the Colts do. Ravens are a playoff team from last year with one of the best defenses in the NFL. They are at home where they are very solid. Last home game was a 30-7 pasting of the Broncos. I am totally staying away from this one. Should be a good game.

Yeah, but Baltimore is no GB and Dallas is definitely no Indy.

Normally, I'd be concerned about a "letdown," but Manning & Co. have been in this position (i.e. up big in the standings; coming off an emotional win; etc.) so many times that I don't think it applies here.

The only thing I could see evening the playing field a little is if the weather turns nasty on the East Coast. Last time I looked at the forecast, it was supposed to be OK tho.

    Like the Colts big.

Edit: Oh, and Suggs is out (I think) for Balty.
  13. Ravens injuries <<<<< Colts injuries

The Colts have pulled at least 3 games this year out of their ass (Miami, SF, NE come to mind w/o thinking much).

The Colts defensive backfield is mangled, and Joe Flacco isn't a slouch, sure he's no Tom Brady, but he's still good enough to torch a college level backfield not to mention a decent rushing attack.

If Suggs, Birk and Heap don't play I would not bet against the Colts, Mason and Clayton aren't elite receivers like Randy Moss, so it should help ease the tension on the D.

If Baltimore loses this game, they are pretty much out of the playoff picture in the AFC, if Indy wins this game the 16-0 mumblings will begin...

With all that being said, Peyton Manning is unreal and I would never bet against him.

P.S. I'm trying to go 3/3 in reverse psychology rooting against my Colts.

LOL. Colts played Sunday night and Baltimore played Monday night, but yes the Colts did have to travel.
  19. I like the Ravens straight up and will take a bet for whoever gives me the best money line on them to win.

i agree. ill take it as well. PLUS the colts on are a short week and on the road. ok? its short. no matter who else is short or shorter, its a short week for the colts! oh! and its also a short week for the colts.
  21. Its already been said, if I had to guess they expect a let down because of the Colts coming off such a draining and emotional win. I used to make fun of people that gave credence to this, until I start noticing it is quite a trend.
  22. Indy won 31-3 last year. I'll take Indy. Baltimore can't stop teams that can throw downfield.

I'm pretty sure the Ravens are coming off the short week here. Wtf are you talking about? The Ravens couldn't get an offense going against the Browns. I like the Colts here. I don't think it will be close.

  24. The year was 2006. I was a young degenerate, wet behind the ears. Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts were undefeated, I think 9-0, and looked for the world that they could go undefeated. Indy then traveled to Dallas to play a 5-4 Dallas team with a new QB at the helm in Romo. I thought Indy would be solid favorites, but when the game was a pick I asked the same question as the OP on this same forum. I bet a couple grand on the Colts and found out the hard way what an NFL trap game really is ...

Both teams have some injury concerns, but Indy's secondary looked awful last week. Granted, Moss-Brady-Welker can do that to a lot of teams, but this was a Colts team at home. Next week will be in a tough road environment against a solid, physical team ... the kinds of teams that give Peyton trouble. The Sheriff would much rather play a team that tries to outscore you than to outmuscle you. Indy is also coming off an emotionally draining win, while Baltimore essentially only had to play a half of football vs. Cleveland before running out the clock.

The intangibles like coming off an emotional win don't effect someone as great as Manning (who was having an awful game by his standards before the comeback). But they do effect the rest of the team, including young WRs Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon. I expect a big day from Ray Rice and a Baltimore victory.

  25. The final line finished at -3.
