This was probably the weirdest, most unprofessional customer service dealing I've ever had with anyone just a few minutes ago.
I ordered a pizza and 2 sodas from your 48th & Vine store in Lincoln, NE.
The order number is 0119/0002
The order was placed over the phone with Kirk.
I ordered a large 1/2 pepperoni, 1/2 pineapple on a thin crust, with 2 20 oz cokes.
After the order i asked to make sure he had the pie in the system as a thin crust, as he didn't confirm that the first time. He said yes, and quoted a 45 minute delivery time.
The driver arrived on time, and I tipped him 2.44 on a 12.56 order.
To my suprise, the pizza was not a thincrust, nor was it marked as a thincrust on the box.
I immediately called the store, and Kirk answered.
I told him about the situation, and he immediately denied the fact that I ordered a thin crust, for obvious reason... he's only going to get himself in trouble, and it's his word against mine.
He says they will send out another pizza... but, as a rule I will not accept this offer because i've worked in fast food before, and i've seen what some of these immature kids will do to retaliate against a customer who might give them a little bit of well-deserved attitude. I will not throw myself at the mercy of your employees to do as they please with my re-made pie.
I requested a chat with the manager. I relayed the situation to him, and his immediate reply was something to the effect of "my employee isn't a moron, sir" in a very snooty tone. At this point i've basically only told him the order was put in the computer wrong, and that I would like a credit for a future order, and your so-called manager is giving me an openly hostile attitude!
His name is Trevor.
Trevor and I continued arguing for a few more minutes. It was very clear to me that he was approaching our chat with a very bad attitude, and that he had no intention of making things right. I've never dealt with a person as unprofessional... he epitomized exactly what a service manager should not be. Blatantly rude, unapproachable, and even insulting to the customer.
As a former Papa John's employee, I'm really quite dumbfounded in the quality of this particular manager that you have working for you. Maybe he's just having a really bad day, I don't know... but that is no excuse for the way he acted with me over the phone... All this over a 12 dollar pizza.
Does Papa have a policy against granting a credit for this type of situation? If he told me they did, I would understand... but he didn't do that.
I would appreciate a phone call from someone in your corporate office. Or, I will be looking up a guy named Richard Waldron(i think was his last name) who owned the local franchises when I was employed there.
my number is -
wow dude..smoke a bowl
-
That's it, I'm boycotting Papa John's (mostly because their pizza sucks).

Cliffnotes:
"All this over a 12 dollar pizza." -
Seeing the thread title, I thought that you were being a narc to Phi's continuous use of a free pizza coupon.

Sorry

Glad he screwed you over for tipping his 2.44 you cheap prick... you do know pizza drivers live off of mostly tips, and it prob cost his ass 2.00 in gas to get to your house.... Just a note too.... From working in the industry you should know... If you tip shitty.. the dudes gonna spit in your pizza (at the least) everytime... man up and tip the kid 3-4.00 at least....
-
If you thought they were going to do something to your pizza before, wait til you see what they are gonna do now. Your name is in the computer now probably with some notes from the last transaction. I would steer clear of this Papa Johns (mainly because their pizza sucks).
-
So you've got a problem with him giving $2.44, but you're o.k. with $3?
$0.56 ftw! -
lol right,
i'm so sure you all have no problem with not getting what you ordered, calling the joint to ask them about it, and getting openly hostile accusatory attitude in return.
FYI I already did smoke a bowl this morning, but that wouldn't necessarily relegate me to an afternoon of drooling on myself and accepting some terrible delivery "service". -
I said 3.00 MINIMUM, me personally would have given 16-17.00, depending on the weather, and how far away I live.... and it might be just .56 cents, but you take 25 deliverys a night, and that extra 50 cents equals an extra 13.00 a night in your pocket.....
-
Ya, def gg you ordering at papa john's from now on.... Man I miss being a kid and delivering pizza's.... that was quite the fun job back in the day, every kid should do it for a few months at least.. and very profitable for a teen job too....except for pricks like sooted... but fuckin with the cheap pricks pizza was quite fun as well... haha
-
lol at cheap prick
I delivered pizza for at least 3 years from high school thru early college years.
If you average a 1.25 tip around here + your .75 gas @ 2 bucks/delivery that is a GOOD NIGHT
The tip was almost DOUBLE the average on a very small order that was on time, but not fast by any means.
As much as EVERYONE likes to pretend they tip pizza drivers 4-5 bucks everytime, it just isn't true.
Ask anyone here that delivers pies.
A 4 dollar or better tip might be 1/10 customers in most areas. -
This could have all been prevented if you didn't order pizza from Papa John's
-
lol at tipping 1.25..... I know you live in Nebraska, but I find it very hard to believe that is the average tip or else no one would be delivering pizza's.. esp with gas prices being the way they are..... I delivered for two years when I was like 17 and had maybe one person per night give me a tip like that.. and if they did... they were well known in the computer and by the other drivers, and usually took twice as long to get it, and had some free extra ingredients....
-
you sound like a dick
you must of been a super dick on the phone if you wouldnt let them cook you another pie....only time i have ever seen food get fucked with/spit in customer deserved it about 800%....im sure you knew you deserved it if youve worked in fast food before -
ya, I'm a prick for tipping 20% on a small pizza order.
Gee, on an average busy night when I used to deliver, I'd do well into the 700-800 dollar range in sales.
Gee, where were all my $140-160 nights (not including gas money)?
I guess i'm better than the average (prick) customer giving such a worthless tip.
Go get a fucking clue. -
All this over a 12 dollar pizza.
I'm amazed that you made such a fuss about a $12 pizza, too. -

Go ahead and argue with the people who prepare your food.. -
20% doesn't matter when you have a small order.. it doesn't really matter whether he delivers 1 pizza or 3 pizza's..... Like I said bare minimum anyone should tip a delivery driver is 3.00, and I still think that's pretty cheap..... if you got up and drove it would prob cost you 3.00 in gas to get there and back at a minimum.... and I used to take 20-30 deliveries a night and rarely made under 100.00 (that 100.00 includes the .65 cent per delivery we got too) maybe most people just arn't cheap pricks like you.....
Another question for you.. If you go into a coffee shop and get a coffee and a bagel, and the total is 3.00, do you leave 50 cents on the table and feel great about yourself because you overtipped? -
customer service has gone down the shitter in the last 10 years. Go to to a nice store in the mall and these cunts have some smug attitude, lol. IM SHOPPING HERE, u are WORKING HERE genuis. or walk into a bmw dealership in some windpants or something and they act like im homeless lol.
-
No offense, but I would prob lol and ignore you if you walked in anywhere in windpants.....
-
Their crust tastes like the smell of piss.

Back in 1979 I lived at 27th and Vine, behind the McDonalds. I once went to that McDonalds and upon leaving I was surrounded by four police cars. They said I matched the description of a guy who just robbed the KFC down the street. They wanted to search my car. I told them no. They left. We used to eat at the east campus cafeteria. It was much better than the main campus. I don't think we had Papa John's back then. We did have Taco John's though. If we wanted pizza delivery we got Domino's. Are you still cranky because of the Huskers bad year? The manager you talked too was probably still upset too. It's okay. 10 wins this year. Is it really cold there today? It's freezing here today.
Go Big Red!

I'm not a dick
I simply called the place to ask about a credit, the kid I spoke with first denied that I asked for a thincrust. They wanted to send another pie, and only if the first was left untouched(im sitting here starving and hungover) The manager immediatedly assumed I was trying to scam them, and took a nasty tone with me right off the bat.
His tone is what made my mind up 800% that I would not accept a replacement pie.
His demeanor and his outright approach to the situation is what irked me.
And for all those remarks about me being petty... i couldn't care less if its a $5 or $500... a customer should never get such undeserved hostility.
...and the amount of the tip is 100% irrelevant. I could've lied and said I gave the kid a 20, for his on-time, yet un-rushed arrival, and I wouldn't be the "cheap" villain. The tip has nothing to do with the fact that kid taking the order wasn't listening or didn't care, and that his manager didn't give a shit either. -
You are a dick. You overreacted on a $12 pizza. Just eat your pizza and stfu, seriously.
-
The driver arrived on time, and I tipped him 2.44 on a 12.56 order
so weak no matter where u live and who u are. worked for a pizza place for years, and i promise u no driver is happy with that tip. you would certaintly be the last of the 2 or 3 orders he has in his car to be delivered -
hi there sir,
Since i'm just a cheap prick to you, i'll just call you a presumptuous asshole.
WTF do you know about the local economy here? Apparently, absolutely nothing.
You live in Florida. I would guess a dollar gets you about 1.5x as far here, as it does there.
I rarely go for overpriced coffee or bagels.
I normally tip 20-25% for good restruant service, and/or a nice show of cleavage or tight ass in skin tight pants.
I also enjoy long walks on the beach and arguing on the interent (if im not busy with RL presumptuous a-holes).
