I also have A ipod touch that I can connect to the new router and access the internet ..If some could help me out tonight I could shoot them a few bucks on stars or fulltillt (maybe 10 or 15 ) for there time .I know it not a whole lot but i dont have much moneyonline right now.. pm me if you can help

  2. check the security key
also check the dns settings, should match the ip of the router (or you can use googles dns server)
  3. Something similar happened to me about a month ago. Try disconnecting the power cables on both the router and the modem simultaneously. Keep them unplugged for at least 10 seconds, then try to reconnect, wait for another 10 secs and try again (make sure all the lights in both the modem and the router are on at this point).

Check the connections icon on the lower right part of your screen and check if your laptop is not only receiving the wireless signal, but also connected to your home network (it will show the "connect" option if you're not).

You should also check for malware. I once experienced a problem with malware blocking the modem on my desktop pc from accessing the internet.

not sure if this will help or not, but the wirless capability may be off. its usually a function key depending on what type of computer you have.
  5. Its most likely your security key and/ or the encryption type on your router webpage's wireless settings is different to your computer's internet settings (e.g one might be set to WEP and the other set to WPA2)

  7. go to your router's website (find router in My Computer->networks, right click to visit wbsite) - go to wireless settings and check the encryption type. Then go back to the wireless network you're trying to conect to and click on wireless properties -> security and make sure the encryption type is the same as it was in the website. Hope this makes sense, let me know if it doesn't and i'll break it down more
  8. make first connection with a cable - set up wireless

    bobs your unlce

I did this last week and it was working but the next day the same shit happened agian
  10. you did use the cd to set it up? followed the instructions?
  11. You probably need to change the security type via your wireless router. You can access your router with your favorite web browser. You can find this information by right clicking the wireless icon in the lower right and hitting status, then the support tab. The one you need is labeled "Default Gateway".

Under the wireless security section try a few different security methods (IE; WEP, WPA2, WPA) and see if any of those work for you. You may need to reboot your computer. Good luck, I had this problem when my Sister couldn't connect on my wireless.
