i have asmall Dell 600m laptop, but just got a 32 LCD w/pc port. I connected laptop to tv but settings still only allow me to go as high as my laptop resolution, which is not enough to get non overlapping tables. Is there a way to change this??
-
you can hook your laptop up to a tv?......teach me!
-
No because TVs dont have as high resolution as your laptop monitor. Nothing you can do about it.
-
yea tv resolution is usually around 800x600 depending on the demensions of it.
-
Sure you can. Get an s-video cable and plug it in. You'll then have to go through your display settings and basically treat the TV as a second monitor. Make sure you say its a TV and not a computer monitor though or it won't work. Also, you may want to get a Y-cable to get sounds to play on whatever speakers you have set up...now that's livin.

I hook my laptop up to my LCD Tv all the time.
-
size of the display has nothing to do with resolution coming out of the video card. it is impossible to get a higher resolution on the tv than what your laptop can put out. time for a new laptop with better video.

ok.. another question..
I have an Apple iBook laptop. It doesnt have an s-video connector on it. I can plug an external monitor via a cord that came w/ my computer(one end is a reg monitor connector and the other goes into the computer.. no clue what its called). Does anyone out there have an iBook? And if so is there an adapter I can buy that connects to an s-video cord?
Edit: LOL nevermind.. found it. GG google
