Did my first draft in a few years and my first ever live in person draft today. Didn't know I was doing it til 11:30 last night, they needed a player. Was pretty cool, all 12 people showed up everybody in a jersey. 3 fucking people wearing Miles Austin jerseys? $100 buy in, $800 for first, I had the 12th pick.

Examples of some questionable picks, Romo #14, 49ers defense 20th, Danny Woodhead 6th round. Believe I got a couple steals at WR with Andre Johnson and Hakeem Nicks
Besides a couple playoff games last season I haven't watched anything other than a Patriot game in 3 years, didn't watch a single NFL game 2 seasons ago. This draft taught me I don't know most of the starting RBs in the NFL.
QB: Vick 36 (didn't want anybody with down syndrome on my team. Risky, maybe should have waited til next turn for QB but 22 picks is a loong time to wait)
RB: MJD 13 (7th RB taken)
RB: Steven Ridley 84 (Should get the goal line carries in NE + need Pat on my team)
WR: Calvin Johnson 12
WR: Andre Johnson 37 (didn't want another WR here but best value on board imo)
WR/RB/TE: Hakeem Nicks 60 (see above)
TE: Vernon Davis 61 (really wanted Aaron Hernandez but he went way too early)
K: Houston kicker (will swap if one I have isnt' starter)
Defense: Seahawks
Bench: Kevin Smith 85 (Hilarious writer)
Bench: Jay Cutler 108 (protection for when Vick inevitably goes down)
Bench: Peyton Hillis 109
Bench: Greg Olson 158
Bench: Shane Vereen
Bench: Toby Gerhart
I have #1 waiver position, should I use it to grab Rashad Jennings or hope nobody tries to take him and save waiver for later? Should I try to trade a WR for RB? -
You got Calvin Johnson at 12? I want to be in that league sooooooo bad
-
Yup, this was 1st round. Would have been pretty sweet to go Megatron/Gronk or Megatron/Fitzgerald.
12 Johnson, Calvin (WR DET)
11 Forte, Matt (RB CHI)
10 Stafford, Matthew (QB DET)
9 Newton, Cam (QB CAR)
8 McFadden, Darren (RB OAK)
7 Johnson, Chris (RB TEN)
6 McCoy, LeSean (RB PHI)
5 Brees, Drew (QB NO)
4 Foster, Arian (RB HOU)
3 Rice, Ray (RB BAL)
2 Brady, Tom (QB NE)
1 Rodgers, Aaron (QB GB) -
12 man league, I picked 8th.
Qb: Tom Brady, Andrew Luck
Rb: MJD, Turner, Doug Martin, Donald Brown, Ben Tate, Rashard Jennings
Wr: Wallace, AJ Green, VJax, Malcolm Floyd, Santana Moss
Te: Fred Davis
Kicker: Rob Bironas
Def: Detroit
We play qb, rb, rb, wr, wr, flex (wr/rb), flex (wr/rb), te, k, def. -
This is very similar to the team im targeting in my auction draft other than swap Turner w FJax/Sproles. No way Martin doest put up solid #s vs that division and a bagned up Blount, and Ben Tate get to play the Colts D twice.

Zepp's team would be good for an 8 man league, 12 man league you might as well start spending that $800

screwy draft overall, here's the 1st round:

1. Arian Foster
2. Calvin Johnson
3. Ray Rice
4. Tom Brady
5. Cam Newton
6. LeSean McCoy
7. Ryan Matthews
8. Rodgers
9. Maurice Jones-Drew
10. Chris Johnson -
Zeppo team is an great 12 man team, but with Mjd not signed and Ridley playing for the pats, he will have trouble at rb. I would suggest going after rashard Jennings like stated. His receivers are extremely ridiculous though so he still should have the best team.

I need help deciding on who to protect in my keeper league. Its a 14 team league, and since I won last year I will have picks 14 and 15 overall. I have to protect 3 of these guys...Aaron Rodgers (given), MJD (holdout), Ahmad Bradshaw, Michael Bush, Greg Jennings, Demaryius Thomas, Tony Gonzalez, Jason Witten, and Mario Manningham. Rodgers is obviously a given, and I think Jennings is too. If MJD wasn't a holdout I think I would be set, but I hate to take up one of my 3 spots with somebody that is such a '?' right now. B. Jacobs is gone from NYG now, so maybe injury prone Bradshaw? Or could D. Thomas turn into a stud with Manning in Denver now? Thoughts, suggestions?
-
kinda tough keeper spot there man. I think you have to keep MJD, when he comes back he will still be top 10 rb by yr end, and you can always just make sure to draft Rashard Jennings a round or two higher than avg, as his specific value to you is greater than the average person.
I would probably keep Jennings, his value even if a little hurt is more than Thomas (your only other keeper option) just with how high powered GB offense is and with a sicko Rodgers at the helm. I do like Thomas to put some big plays up as Manning gets more and more used to his new weapons, but I still feel Jennings has more of the consistent numbers, just not as high as last few season.
Also join the mega league man, i think you played in it before. Check out the thread and PM me if your interested. GL this season -
People are over-valuing the shit out of Cam and why the hell is a hurt Ryan Matthews still going first round?
-
cuz he might be ready for the opener

Me too, outside of Dez and Colston obv. Cruz went 21st sadly. Felt I couldnt pass up Forte and McFadden when they fell to me tho. I do think Dez could have a big year, and Colstons value has to be up with how much attention Graham now demands, and Meachem gone. Other than that Floyd is meh with how awful Rivers was last year, and with Meachem, Royal, Brown, and Gates around. Crabtree lost a ton a value with Manningham, and Moss showing up in town. Rice is still the first option, but has a new QB, same with Little. Hopefully Flynn and Weeden get it done this year so those picks will have some serious up side. Moss at 33 years old with RG3 seemed like a fun gamble in the 14th round.
Seeing your WR core when looking at mine makes me want to cry inside... Megatron and Johson (if he stays healthy) are true sickos. No clue how Nicks lasted to the end of the 5th round either (I was let down when we went with the 11th pick in the 3rd round. I really wanted Dez/Nicks). You just have no WR depth with all RB's and a TE on your bench. -
Does anyone know if it is possible to draft on an Ipad?

Brown is gone, probably wont be back till week 5 and coming back from a broken ankle, i doubt he will be a breakout FFB player like most thought. As for Rivers, the Chargers as a whole were 5th in scoring last year. Even tho Rivers had a lot of int's at the beginning of the year, he turned it around the last 6 games with 11 TD's and 3 ints. With Mathews also out, Rivers is going to have to air it out this year. Ronnie Brown isnt the answer for a 1100 yard back. I expect Rivers to have lots of yards this year with mixed results, so Floyd, Gates, Meachem and Royal will most likely have very good numbers this year. -
Loving all the people that reached on Vick... again... Dinged up twice in the pre-season. Odds he ever plays a full season(other than 06 obv)?
-
Any advice/strategy for the 5th pick in a 10-man PPR league (4 pts for passing TD)?
-
Megatron or Rodgers, depending on which one of them makes it to you. pretty straight forward pick.
-
If everyone stays healthy, that should be a solid 6th place team
-
Your team looks good. Its just all a gamble with Vick.
-
Cutler is your QB... I like the rest for the most part, but Cutler is your QB...
-
Im a little confused on how you got Forte with the 23rd pick... and Vick is overly risky, unless you got him in the 6th+ round I dont like him. I also don't like McGahee, the guys 30 and has the likes of Ball, Hillman, and Moreno to contend with. My money is on Hillman getting most of the work by week 5 (at least I hope so). Other than that it doesnt seem bad at all.

*edit* @rocky obv -
Vick is just getting the injuries over with early, everything going to plan thus far
note* I replied to your WR comment like 10 hours ago but when I posted it didn't go through and I lost it
