Instead of writing the huge rant i want to im just going to try to make it short....my fiance flew home from vegas yesterday...obv flying continental. Had $2500 cash inside a bag which was inside of another bag which was inside of her suitcase (which she accidentally packed in the suitcase instead of her carry on). They end up having airplane issues and have to stay over night in cleveland. she checks her suitcase and all the bags are open and the money is gone. Continental says theres nothing they can do about it. Nice to know people who work for airlines can just steal whatever the fuck they want out of suitcases and get away with it. What a fucking joke
-
that bitch spent it on 4 8 balls and 6 dicks
-
Thanks for the warning, I was about to check a suitcase full of money myself.
-
Why would anyone think its a good idea to be seperated from any amount of money over a long period of time?? Prior to going on the plane she could have depositied the money.

Missing items from baggage should be reported to the airport Baggage Service Office immediately after the arrival of your flight, but must be reported to Continental Airlines in writing no later than 4 hours after discovery. Missing items may be reported to the Continental Airlines Baggage Resolution Center at its 24-hour, seven-day-a-week, toll-free number: 800.335.BAGS (800.335.2247) prompt 1. If the toll-free number is not available in your area, please call 281.821.3526 prompt 1.

edit: it could have been TSA -
thats not the point being made, the point being continental just letting this bullshit go on, and security or whoever is checking these suitcases just destroying them and stealing whatever they want. She knows it was her fault for having it in the suitcase, the worst part being it was the company that she works for money and they made her fly w/ it. Luckily she still has a job and her bosses are awesome and said its only money
-
i mean sucks that happened but they can't just return 2500$ based on a whim. people would take advantage of that way too often. did she let the airline know that she was carrying 2500$?
-
"It's only money" as in "we're gonna go balls deep in your ass while the future divorcee watches".
-
yeah its just a shitty situation, i guess it wasnt reported because when she notified her boss (who she was flying with) she just said security or whoever wont do anything about it, which leads me to believe they werent very worried about the 2500.
-
Lol @ blamining Continental for this. Cash belongs in you pocket.
-
flight attendant: sorry ma'am but you need a first class ticket to sit in first class
blonde: this seat is empty and i'd like a comfortable seat to denver
flight attendant: the first class seats are going to Chicago
blonde: fuck that then, i hate chicago -
LOL, Damn she mustve had a hell of a weekend on a 2.5k freeroll.
-
I'd bet $2,500 that your fiance lost (or simply kept) the money some other way and is using the airline story as an excuse.
-
yeah still makes it perfectly acceptable for people to just steal what they want out of your suitcase because you dont have it right with you. like most of you said though it was probably TSA not continental though

you sir are a babbling fucking idiot -
Now I am calling shenanigans. What kind of company has an employee travel with cash? This place too cheap for internet banking, wire transfers, etc.?

I don't think any airline covers money, jewelry or other similar type valuables. Also the Department of Transportation regulations limit liability on domestic flights for things that are covered to $3,300. There may be an exception for theft, however, if you could ever determine who opened the suitcase and took the money it might be a different story.

While I would never put case in my suitcase, since your girlfriend did, I would take pictures of the suitcase to show any signs of forced entry and I would report it to both the Las Vegas/Cleveland and the destination citiy police departments. It probably won't matter, but that is really your only option.
Here are some stories about theft by Continental employees.

i forgot to post that chaz got a job at TSA recently ... sowwy

The real question here is why anyone would consider flying an airline not named Virgin or JetBlue
-
Doesn't smell right
-
All they did was make that flight safer , flamable items removed from the suitcase .
-
