Surprised nobody commented on this today. Sounds like it was a huge deviation from the sentencing guidelines.
-
barry who?
-
Should have got some jailtime out of this imo.
-
haters
-
I think he got some house arrest time. 30 days or something like that. Plus the probation and a bunch of community service. Was it worth the cost of our tax dollars?
-
Lie to a grand jury. No big...
He shoulda got a lil time -
Seems like a big waste of money to me....so he lied about taking steroids. I really don't see where the criminal part comes in.
-
Kind of a crime to lie under oath. But yeah, big waste of money.
-
75 million is the figure Darren Rovell tweeted. disgusting stuff
-
he wasn't convicted of lying to a grand jury
-
75 million for a fucking perjury case? That's gross.
-
he was convicted of obstructing justice because of his "evasive" answers to questions, even though he later gave a direct answer to the question asked
"An evasive answer about an issue material to the grand jury is not necessarily rendered immaterial by the later provision of a direct answer, even if that direct answer is true." -
We need to legalize all drugs immediately. Fucking disgusting how much money gets spent convicting/jailing people for drugs. Doesn't matter if drugs are legal or illegal, the same people that use or abuse them will be the same. Maybe even less.
-
yay, the witch hunt is over. Maybe.
-
He's appealing the conviction so the cost will end up being even more and I'm assuming the "witch hunt" now turns its attention to Roger Clemens.
-
Noticed this on the news last night. The guy was paraded out of court looking like he shed about 100 pounds (mostly in the head). Makes you go hmmmmmmmm.
Fuck him the lying cheat. Firing squad for ruining baseball. -
considering he should have never been put in the position to testify I think the punishment fits the crime.
-
lol old people

cuz baseball players never cheated before Bonds, amirite? -
I hate how all the "anti PED" people conveniently ignore all the PED's that were used back in the '40's, '50's and '60's.
-
that is really ridiculous...who would build a house like that with only a 4-car garage?

The Clemens thing is even worse, how much money did they spend only to have The DOJs lead prosecutor make and epic fail which killed the entire case and most likely they won'g be charging Clemens again.
too lazy to explain just google if you want to know about the fuck up
but 75m is just fucking insane -
