cooking in the barracks.... help!

    ok so i live in the barracks where i have a microwave and fridge..... i bought a skillet and a rice steamer more recently...... i need ot to give me some ideas on meals i can cook because im pretty tired of eating ramen noodles. and hot pockets all the time.... im probably going to go food shopping tomorrow so give me some input on meals that are barracks freindly that are not that expensive. Junior Marines get paid shit.

    -cut it in 1inch strips
    -pound it flat
    -marinate
    -freeze into daily meal portions
    -thaw
    -fry
    -eat
    -repeat

    You can have a skillet if I remember correctly, but you can't have a hot plate (single stove burner coil you plug in). I recommend getting the hot plate, and using a frying pan and/or pots to cook things. As usual, do what your rank can afford. If you get caught, that's on you. lol

    Crockpot/slow cooker is your most efficient/economical purchase. It will also allow for the widest range of menu possibilities.

    Had an E-5 on the ship who was married. He became good friends with an E-4, when E-4's werent allowed to get BAH unless they were married. So the E-5 rented a room to the E-4. These 2 thought it was a good idea for the E-4 to take the E-5's wife to Mexico and get married so the E-4 could get full BAH and would have extra money to pay the rent. After a while the E-4 started fucking the wife and the command got wind of the situation and both dudes went to mass and lost stripes. One of the more fucked up things i have encountered.

    what happened or the logictics. im confused on how they got away with it. meaning getting paid or do they not register the woman a guy is married to. also did command have the woman arrested on polygamy chargers?

    Start using the kitchen.. we used to have 5 or so people go to the store and cook up a large meal and every took leftovers to their room that you would eat on for another 2 or so days.

    Also, if you're paying for the DFAC then why waste the money? I would at least go get a to go plate even if I didn't think I would eat it. I know it sucks sometimes, but you have the weekends to grill out and eat out. Just never made sense to me why people would have that taken out of their checks then never eat there. You're paying double for food.

    They got away with it for a while till the E-5 got pissed casue the E-4 was now fucking his wife.

    Back in the day alot of military guys would go to TJ to get married, since it wasnt tracked in the US, you never had to get a divorce for contract marriages, but the Military would recognize the marriage certificate and pay the military members BAH (basic housing allowance). It was a good scam until you get caught.

    when i was in the barracks for fire academy i had a foreman grill, rice cooker, microwave, and a grilled cheese sandwich maker.

    basic meals were chicken (foreman) rice & broccoli (cooker), micro dinners, and grilled turkey/chicken/ham sandwiches. oh, and cold costco pizza

    No, i dont think she did. They just went after back pay (BAH) of the E-4 and busted both.

    we dont have a kitchen.... and i rate comrats cuz im a fucking pig and work weird hours.
