  1. so, like all good things, this happened on a whim

went fishin in the pond this morning, caught two perfect eating size bass. thought,"h'mmmmm" as nasty s' are prone to think and..

    dog brought in a bird.

gutted the fish, leaving the skin and scales on. chopped for butterfly cooking (thanks clwhat!) lightly seasoned with just salt, lime, dressed with olive oil.

the bird. it was cleaned outside and you don't need pics as everyone has cleaned birds. again, seasoned lightly with salt, pepper, some homemade habenaro stuff i have and olive oil.

mushrooms, radish, onions. put on skewers, olive oil and season salt

ok here is the fish and the bird, skewers and stuff

fish chopped and everything but olive oil-whichs hits hot grill and fish same time

ok, go out in the barn and find a heavy piece of steel- this is off the finish mower from behind the tractor

heat the grill and the steel until they be mighty hot

coat grill and fish with olive oil and tuck into the metal sandwich

now i did not photo alot of steps in here but- the onion, mushroom kabobs came off and got tossed in olive oil and some friggin hot pepper mix, tortillas were cooked off on the grill. the little bird is still on.

plate up and we have fresh fish tacos, roasted mushrooms and some fine ass game bird breasts.

every day is what you make of it.

  12. as a note on the skin and scales, they peel off when cooked under such high heat. just peel and eat. the skin protects the meat from getting all burnt and full of grass and tractor paint.

Completely agree. Cook with skin on, peel off after especially when you use tractor related cooking items.
