From Wikipedia
Sorry, should have said "rarely". Wasn't about this case particularly, just an observation that the police are rarely charged when a normal citizen likely would be in the same situation. The police are above the law.In most states, a police dog is considered a full-fledged police officer, sometimes even given a badge. As such, most laws find assaulting a police dog to be equal or very similar to assaulting a human officer, and as a result some agencies will deem it acceptable for officers to open fire on a person who is intentionally hurting a police dog, with apparent attempt to kill it. However, this is not a unanimous policy.

You and Dyz are the fucking same, unreal.
-
Because Dyz and I share a similar opinion on one subject we are the same? Doubt we are the only 2 who recognize that the police get away with more than other citizens.
-
lol at anyone who disagrees police dont have a different standard, im not even saying they shouldnt but its pretty obv they do unless your are blinded by sceince
-
i learned that from the charlie brown special where he goes to dc for spelling bee and using the tuning fork for something when I was like 7( helped him remember or something)

I've heard that "I before E" has officially been scrapped because of too many exceptions. Apparently science is one of them

I haven't read any of this thread ad I can't bring myself to read any articles about the guys leaving their dogs in their cars and them dying. Being the only person in OT that has ever worked a police dog I will say that if your dog dies in your cruiser you should be fired and charged with a crime of some sort. We all rely on our air conditionings to keep the dogs cool but, because we run them all the time, some ACs fail. Thats why you GO FUCKING CHECK ON YOUR DOG all the time. There is no excuse you can give me. Period. BTW there were 4 of us working dogs at the HOF Ribs Burnoff this week. All 4 of our cars ran for 15 hours straight, and all 4 of us checked on our dogs several times an hour. It's a no brainer.

Thanks for that ess, kno you prob didn't really want to get involved here

Sovereign Immunity, bishes . . .
-
I agree with Zep in the sense that if we are gonna get charged for murdering a cop when we run over a police dog, than so should cops.

Reason: I suck -
maybe they would be better off with police alligators

this is how I felt about the situation too but I obviously don't have your unique (ot-wise anyway) perspective/understanding.

these stories are sfsickening, mostly because it can so fucking easily be prevented. I don't know how it happens ever let alone multiple fucking times.
thanks for your input sir, stay safe. -
Teachers and doctors are always held to a higher standard, cops.. not so much. I am sure he is devastated. Most police dogs live with the officer, at least the ones around here do.
I can't believe people still do this so often. And KIDS still die this way every year wtf...
