I thought the edit was funny and was thrown in there mostly in jest.

ps I remember my first rubber bullet meant for another. -
If everyone in America carried guns that dog wouldn't have had a chance

Throwing objects at cops without punishment isn't protected in the first amendment. If the people are there to voice their distrust in the authorities I have absolutely no problem with that, and in encourage it. But you can't throw things at cops and expect nothing to happen.

I have to admit the dog was awesome. Question though. Suppose the guy attacked by the dog had a concealed knife, would he had been justified in sticking the dog?
My real point was that you shouldn't bring your kids to something like this. -
Needs more love. The ironic symbolism of the people who blindly support police without question is awesome. Well done

The difference between this and a tea party protest, more melanin, fewer guns? Seems to me, this would be a different debate if the protesters were against Obamacare and taxes. Cops should have a higher standard, considering their training and experience, but it would be nice if they were just held to the same standards of accountability for assault and battery as everyone else.

cant recall the last time ive seen the tea party crowd throw bottles and rocks at police officers or show them any kind of disrespect.
pretty sure thats the main difference, not guns -
This. To those defending the police, FUCK YOU. Yes there are good cops and there are bad cops, I have unfortunately had to deal with a many of the bad ones in my day, and only a couple that I came away having any respect for. The blind support of police enables them to be crooked, power trippin, filthy fucking cacksuckers.

The cops in this vid are clearly out of line with shooting rubber bullets in the vicinity of children. Yes, the parents are lol bad for bringing children into this situation, but that by no means make it ok for the cops to shoot rubber bullets at them for fuck sakes. Nobody even had any weapons. They could have easily restrained any person who they felt needed to be, without using the bullets. Like the guy who squared off, they could have just tackled him to the ground cuffed him etc... Then if the crowd started jumping the cops or something I can see escalating the force. In the situation that the video depicts, it is completely absurd to start firing rubber bullets into that crowd. The cops know it as well, which is why they tried to buy the videos. Crooked cops gonna crooked cop. -
All dogs love me, they can sense that I am a fan of theirs and they act in kind. I've always been curious if a police dog was sent to tackle me if it would stop and start licking me instead. I think it probably would. Can you imagine how shitty the cops would feel if the dog just stopped and started licking you then started doing whatever tricks it knew for you?
I'll never be in that spot as I don't do illegal stuff am just curious is all. -
Edited By: pistol45 Jul 23rd, 2012 at 07:03 PMPretty sure the police didn't attack tea party protesters in any event I can remember. Those videos show residents being very defensive, being chased by police with shotguns, tazers, and turning loose a dog that went on the attack. Tea party members spat on congress members, screamed in the faces of officials while adopting threatening postures, brandished assault weapons, attacked counter protesters, etc. A thrown water bottle is grounds for a single arrest (where charges are likely to be dropped by the DA, in any respectable city).Originally Posted by NUTZREALHUGE

also, the dog was for sure out of control.
that being said, I really don't like cops and think they have way too much power and use abuse far too often.
If it isn't safe to bring your kids to a place with a large police presence then where is it safe to bring your kids? -
I never met an animal that I didn't like

People should feel secure to bring their children to lawful assemblies. They should also be safe from the police (whether they feel safe or not), regardless of whether the assembly is lawful or not. The police are entitled to exhibit enough force to exercise an arrest if someone is breaking the law. They are also supposed to retain a posture of authority and control, but most of those people were not breaking the law.

Unless your car was the same car as the suspect they were looking for from a bank heist or something similar.

Well said. The cops in the video are criminals
