Unbelievable this guy in the past 2 months. He got his third hat trick of the season against the Sharks in a MUST WIN game for the Ducks. I think that game sealed the Hart for him? I've always hated him, saying he was overrated and a byproduct of Getzlaf's passing, but the dude has a nose for the goal and he's just absolutely lethal when he has the puck near the crease. He is one of the most slippery players behind the net and he changes direction on a dime. I laughed when Barry Melrose said 3 years ago that Perry is gonna be a 50 goal scorer in the league, well Perry just shut me up. GO DUCKS!
-
im sure everybody has a hart
-
He has the Maurice Richard trophy, but unfortunately no Hart. Daniel Sedin will get it, though I feel Perry is just as deserving.
-
i had no idea asian dudes liked hockey.

Yea, I'm a rarity, but then again everything about me is a rarity. People ask me my favorite sport, and they laugh when I say it's ice hockey.

Maybe, after this game it's pretty close IMO. Perry has been so clutch and literally is putting the Ducks on his back after Getzlaf was injured 2 months ago and Hiller got injured. -
Hes having an amazing breakout season.. He does benefit from playing on an amazing line though. Ryan and Getzlaf are top tier talent. Gonna be tough not to give Hart to Daniel Sedin though.. Leading the lead in scoring on the best team in the league.
I dont understand how you could have ever hated him. He plays the game hard. Look at the scoring leaderboard. Only one guy has triple digit PIM's. He will drop em with ya as well.
One of my co workers is from Laos but his teenage years were spent in Montreal. So he loves hockey. Everytime we talk hockey on break its always in the back of my mind how rare it is.. -
I agree with you 100%, but the voters tend to be biased towards voting for the best player on the best team. Since the Canucks were by far the best team in the league, Sedin will probably win by default. Not taking anything away from Sedin either as he's had a monster year, but I also agree that Perry has been a freak for the last few months. His play without Getzlaf is what has made him stand out.

I'd be okay with either of them winning. Some people are making arguments for Lundqvist as well which I can see. He has basically been the sole reason the Rangers are even sniffing the playoffs. -
I hated him because he was such a punk. He also cherry picks very frequently as I've watched nearly every game he's played at the NHL level. He doesn't skate particularly well either, but gets the job done. I've always said if Ryan was on the Right wing he'd score more goals on account of his stickhandling and skating skills but Ryan doesn't go to the dirty areas like Perry does. After this season, I don't think I can bash Perry ever again. I definitely agree he plays hard when he hits the ice. He just needs to tone his punk ass attitude post whistle.

Yea but remember, Getzlaf was out for about 15 games post all star break and that's when Perry started to carry the team on his back. But yea, I just think this game really makes it neck and neck in terms of Hart voting. -
i'm gunna gay your thread up with some hart
-
Perry should def win it this year. the other 4 in the top 5 all have teammates in the top 5
-
Perry is a legit contender, but saying he locked up the hart is a little bit rediculous.

It could be Thomas, Perry, Sedin....dabble in another player or 2 with potential and deserving, but neither of the 3 have it for sure.
Thomas's numbers are rediculous, especially compared to the ones when he won the Vezina. IMO, Lundquist is deserving as well(but won't get consideration). Without him, the NYR are nowhere near a playoff spot. -
but what does this have to do with Brett Hull?

Edited By: TMLMS13 Apr 7th, 2011 at 10:39 AMnominees will probably be perry, d sedin, OV, not that i think ov should be, but he probably will. A lot of times you see name>deservednessOriginally Posted by hostile

when the full voting numbers are released there will be a log jam of stamkos/thomas/h. sedin/st louis/crosby/iginla. -
i played ice hockey in ms/hs lil bit of college and interned for the isles, one of the best experiences, love hockey too
-
just thought I'd bump this considering the fact that he won the Hart Trophy tonight.
-
won me $20. Bet him pre-playoffs that he'd win the Hart over Sedin.
-
woooooop perry, great player. perry getz ryan is my favorite line in hockey (other than grabo kule c-mac)
