So the casino here outside of Chicago has 100x odds on Pass Line bets.
Edited By: UCBananaboy Nov 14th, 2011 at 04:31 AM
The only time I've played was in Vegas where they had 3x - 5x rules on the pass line bets.
Should this alter your strategy in anyway? I'm assuming you should smash your odds when the point is a 6 or 8, but please correct me if my logic is flawed?
Any insight or observations would be greatly appreciated -
Shouldn't alter your strategy at all. It's a break even bet no matter what the point is. Only bet as much as you can afford to win.

casino royale?

100x is pretty hard to find, this is the best bet you can make (other than poker) in a casino, pretty much what runninbad said
-
100x is the best bet you can ever get .....expensive though, lol
-
lol. if it is a 6 or 8 just dooooo ittttt. you can do itttttttt. line away pay the don'ts. oops.

Near-sightedly you should take max on 6 and 8. However if you're actually smart and understand odds, you would take max odds regardless of the point. At 100x, the casino has almost a literal 0% edge over you. If you are playing with the thought that, ooooo a 6 or 8 let me max now! while not taking max on 4s,5s,9s,10s, you are going to get crushed.

As I understand it taking max odds (@ 100 X ) on any point narrows the casino edge to nothing. Why would they do it then? To generate interest by other, hoping they join in and they still having a shot at winning the money put on the table by you.

Casino Royale on the strip between Venetian and Harrahs offers 100x odds on craps.
-
you are correct in your assessment, but you could go broke in the process quite easily at 100x odds.

The odds are the best bet you can make. If you can afford to take 100x odds I would do it. Craps is a fast game so you will win or lose you money quickly especially playing 100x odds. There is no one number that is better to get odds on than another because the bigger payouts make up for the the harder numbers to hit.
On a 6 or 8 the odds pay 6-5 so for those that do not understand that every $5 you bet you will win $6.
there are 6 total combinations of the dice to roll a 7 (the number you will lose to) 1-6, 6-1, 2-5, 5-2, 3-4, and 4-3. There are 5 total ways to roll a 6 1-5, 5-1, 2-4, 4-2, and 3-3. So assuming you are playing just the 6 there are 5 ways win and and 6 ways to lose.
on the 5 and 9 there are 4 ways to roll each number and 6 ways to roll 7 (still it doesn't change) hence the odds paying 3-2 so for every $10 you bet on the 5 and 9 you will win $15. Only thing about these two numbers is that you need to keep your odds even or you are giving money away not a lot but still the casino already has the edge on this game there is no reason to give them your money for nothing.
Example you put $15 on the odds a 5 and a winner is rolled you are supposed to be paid $22.50 since the tables do not care quarters or 50 cent pieces you are only paid $22 dollars.
4 and 10 there are 3 ways to roll either number so the pay 6-3 or 2-1 so no matter what you bet when the point is 4 or 10 you will be paid double if a winner is rolled.
What do I know I only deal this game for a living tho... -
there are PLENTY of dealers in vegas that have no idea. . .
last time i spoke up was when a dealer at the wynn told a player that the house has an edge on odds bets. his response to me was that he had been doing that job for 30 years and gave me a funny look. -
QFT
My wife's been a craps dealer for 25 years and she has no clue what the house edge is nor does she care. She also teaches craps to break-in dealers so apparently you don't need to know the %'s to be a good dealer. -
Question: Was playing the other night where I normally play, shift change and two dealers I've never seen before step in. I place a 9$ 3way crap (3$ on the 2/3/12) shooter rolls a 3 and I get paid like 13$ which I swear is not right... I was a little drunk but can someone clear this up for me what I shoulda got paid and such? I don't normally bet like this but was fucking around because it was hitting. Also.. when the 3 rolled, my 9$ should stay up right? I wanted to press another 3$ for 12$ total but this dude was fucking me up so I left after this.
