Pretty amazing story.
Edited By: jimmycrackcorn May 6th, 2011 at 05:11 PM
This is what your government wants to keep from you.
If the video is too long, the cliff's are that this child had a brain tumor wrapped around his optic nerve. They were only able to get 10% of the tumor with surgery, then 6 rounds of chemo - he wasn't eating for 40 days - desperate parents tried cannabis oil, and he gained a better quality of life. He is now cancer free.
-
so he wasnt smoking it, disappointed based on thread title

A real study on the benefits marijuana through various methods of ingestion would hurt the drug companies bottom line and we all know they have to much power in congress to allow an even semi legitimate study become mainstream.
So sad but good for this father to try something to help his child even against the stigma.
Also didn't watch the video postin from my phone will def watch later. -
The pics of him in the hospital are heartbreaking - I can't imagine what it must be like to go through something like that - good for his dad for not taking no for an answer and doing what he felt was right for his son - amazing story - awesome that he's cancer-free now :)

A friend on Facebook posted an old article today from 2007 on a study that showed THC reduced lung cancer tumor growth by 50% in mice http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases...0417193338.htm i hope medical marijuana gets the attention and research it deserves in the future -
It's just complete BS that cannabis is still a Schedule I drug. Schedule I drugs have no medicinal value. I think it's become quite clear in the last decade, that on top of being a very benign substance, it also has many accepted medical benefits.

has the dad been arrested yet?

Screw the govt. and screw the pharmaceutical industry. This video just conveys how greedy that industry is and how developing and promoting drugs for optimal patient care is not in their best interest.

People in power have one interest, well, two: Keeping power, and acquiring more, if possible. People that run the DEA, FDA, etc. are not in a position to want to give away their "hard earned" power by legalizing the medicine called marijuana. It would eliminate jobs from their organizations, take away enforcement funding, and lessen their power. I'd laugh, except it's so absurd, that I can't.

The government has become a cancer. Self interested in its own growth, collectively, with each niche department operating under the same premise. It's natural for this to occur. Since, I mean, the govt. dealing with 350 million people needs to be bigger than the govt. at the turn of the 19th century. But, the growth has gotten out of control. Cannabis regulation is but part and parcel of the larger governmental paradigm we operate under. -
cannabis oil/THC is such an amazing medicine. we know so little about the absurd healing power of this "drug"

wow

But this is the USA. It's all about money here. Fuck anything else. Fuck everything else. The government is for sale and the drug companies got the cash to buy every POS politician on Capitol Hill.
-
This video has been posted here before, but it's similar to the OP and I highly suggest it for those who are interested. It's a story about a man who made hash oil to cure his own cancer, then cured friends with his product.
-
How come when I post videos of this I get flaimed? but when it's a little kid that is cured all of the sudden people open their eyes...well maybe bc I go about it the wrong way. lol this is a less drastic way of how I go about showing people the affects this drugs can have on sickness.

I hear the "can't decriminalize weed because of the prison/cop/court complex" argument, but I don't buy it. the courts are overflowing, the prisons are overflowing, and major crimes go unsolved all the time. is there really not enough crime to keep everyone busy without busting pot smokers?
Edited By: norcaljeff May 6th, 2011 at 11:04 PM
do we really need to let violent criminals out early because of overcrowding? that doesn't help prison guards. do we really need to cut plea deals with them because the dockets are full and there's not enough time? that doesn't help the courts and the lawyers. and are there not enough serious crimes that cops would become jobless?
you'd think we could speed up response times to real crimes, have enough time and personnel to try the worst criminals and still keep the jails nice and full, no?
edit: cosign on the gov being too big obv. But when everything is "for the children" growing the gov is not only desirable for the gov, but it's morally correct thing to do. "It's not that I'm protecting my budget for X program, it's that the people we serve neeeeed us. That's why every time someone mentions cutting the gov/gov spending, people get up in arms. "What about the children/old people/ disabled/poor/etc etc etc." Not to mention "outreach" to "those in need." Big gov is a self-fulfilling prophecy imo -
When people have the ability to vote themselves the authority to take from other people then yes, it is.
Big gov is a self-fulfilling prophecy imo

No, Waco. What you need to realize is that these crimes are most decidedly NOT victimless. The govt., in its seemingly infinite wisdom, is saving you from yourself, even if you don't quite know or understand that. Listen to Anslinger, Obama, Bush, Preet, and all the rest, past and present. They know what's best for you. We'd all do well to listen.

lulz -
What are you smoking? Please hook it up. Send me a lil taste. What you've "pointed out" in other threads is nothing close to what we are discussing ITT.

Yarks that's why I can't in good conscience work for the government anymore.

really disgusts me about marijuana and the hemp plant and the governments controls over it. its not even the helpful aspects of the high of the plant. its also the plant itself that can be turned into numerous products that are more efficient than its current counterparts. this industry is really, and the industry of drugs, is arguably the worst part of american government and control. leaving that whole discussion aside, its just really disappointing that, even though it appears we are getting closer to being sensible, this simple plant has such an impact across a large portion of our entire economy. others might be able to describe about how we can make paper products, for starters from the hemp plant, which grow at a much faster rate than the wood counterpart. hemp rope was the rope during this countrys beginning. the fibers of the plant can be used for many things. its really just sad overall

I didn't read this, but I want McGehee, Uggla, or Holliday. I have pitching. Let's make it happen.
