Premiere was last night in NYC to apparent rave reviews. Anyone seen it yet? It opens Thursday in Malaysia vs Friday in US, but all the IMAX tix sold out in like 5 minutes so seeing it Friday night. Really excited, as The Dark Knight was absolutely amazing (more Goodfellas than Superhero obv) and Nolan has a pretty good track record.
Thoughts? Reviews? I assume EVERYONE is seeing it this weekend...
Try not to spoil anything for the first weekend at least I guess... -
I was going to make this thread. Bastard.
Imax Tickets for midnight showing have already been purchased. Hopefully this makes up for the summer because it has been so bad (movie wise) because everyone pushed back their releases to not go against the avengers or the dark knight rises. Can't wait. -
Somehow got Imax ticks last night. Taking my 2 little cousins, should be a fun time. Hoping for a sick ass movie
-
Got tickets for Friday night Imax. I also took the day off to watch Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. So pumped for the 2hours 45 minutes of awesome!
-
Mods can add it if they want, but this is OT... it's practically a contest to be the first to spoil everything. If you don't expect spoilers in threads by now, dunno what to say. I didn't spoil anything and in fact asked people not to at least for first weekend, but who knows.
That 13 minute trailer is pretty awesome with cast/Nolan interviews... -
mentioned it in the NQTW that the washington post lady gave it a bad review(2 stars) but gave battleship a good review(3 stars)......needless to say she is getting trolled.

So jealous of all this IMAX talk. I have been anticipating this movie for so long and not even sure when I'll be able to see it. Some may remember my post months ago about moving to Martha's Vineyard for the summer and as awesome as this place is there is basically the shittiest theaters. The schedule isnt even out yet for friday and on. Certainly no midnight thursday...that would be nonsense here. Hell I waited in line for Ted openinf night here for more than I'd if liked. And IMAX? Fuck I think the closest one is in providence so I'd have to take the 45min ferry off island and then still get to fucking Providence! Ugh fuck all of you about to see this movie this weekend. /end rant

Would it be sad if I were to buy a ticket to the IMAX midnight premiere and go alone? I seriously don't know if I can wait for one of my friends to be available to view it because they don't have the same burning passion to watch this movie as I do. I can't remember the last time I was ever this excited for a movie release.
-
Naw. That's overplayed. If you're comfortable alone, go, then you can catch it again with friends. Always funny how people plan their schedule around others just to avoid some nebulous concept like "can't go alone, that's just weird".
-
the one preview I saw made it look dumb / trying to be to much of a joke. have avoided because I want to see it still but have low expectations.
-
My feelings as well. I may not even see it for several weeks with my schedule and even then I'm going to make sure to pull a double feature with something else. I'm sure it will be fine, but not looking forward to it in any significant way. Then again, I'm a general hater of comic genre movies. Liked Iron Man and Dark Knight enough, but I wasn't waiting in line.

Cliiffs ..."stuck" on the vinyard for the summer , can't see some dumbass movie ...really ? go to the Black Dog take Kitesurfing lessons , and enjoy your summer , I mean I don't even ...

Please name some movies that deserve more hype. Maybe it's a natural lag with ppl catching on to things but it cannot be said enough, Nolan is the best director of this generation and on pace to being the best ever. His resume is fucking INSANE.
This is his 7th movie that he's written and directed. Of the 6 that he's already done, 5 are in the top 115 movies ever made on IMDB (#s 33, 115, 70, 8, 15)...that's just absurd. And the one that isn't ranked is his first movie, following, which cost about 72 dollars to make and it's a very creative badass movie (7.6 rating). Look up all your fav directors, no one has better results than this, no one and the dude still has 25 more years of movies to make.
Do I even need to mention the ridiculous cast?
What a fucking joke. I understand the contrarian mindset, believe me. I like hating on things that too many fucking ppl won't stfu about even if they are legit but this is beyond that. So stfu and enjoy the Michael Jordan of movie makers deliver the end to one of the best trilogies ever. -
VIDEO GAMES?
