  1. I got hooked up with tickets to see Dave Chappelle tonight in San Francisco. He is doing an 8pm and 11pm show, got lucky enough to get the 11pm ones. I heard they sold out in 45 seconds. I hear he stays on for hours extra sometimes and has conversations with the audience. Anyway I'm really looking forward to this, anyone ever see him do live stand up before?

  9. I saw him at Mohegan Sun a few months before his meltdown. it was by far the funniest show ive seen. he includes the crowd and just goes on for a while.
  10. Saw him a few months after he came out of hiding several years back.. greatest comedy show i've see. He is definitely well worth the price of admission.
  11. Awesome! Let us know how it is
  12. LUCKY!

  13. sweet brag imo. he's hilarious

ps. you know I was just kidding about that undertitle thing right? lol just wanted to make sure

  17. Wow, EXTREMELY jealous. I just finished watching through the entire series of Chappelle's Show on netflix instant (like literally, directly before I clicked on this thread)...man do I wish that dude would come out in public more. Is he on tour or is this just sort of a one-off show?
  18. Man Chappelle is funny. Bring back the Chappelle show!

Jesus even for chapelle that seems long
  24. 5.5 hours wtf?

I saw him do stand up a few years ago, so funny

  25. Ok my thoughts...First off the venue was perfect only 200-300 people max (the Independent in SF). Very personal. He came onto stage around 1130-12 and left at 430am. He came on smoking a blunt, which got us all in the back to pull our J's out and join him. His first hour and a half were hilarious. It was all very funny material.

But even he noticed that there was a turning point in the show. There was a very sexy waitress serving drinks to the front rows, she happened to have two guns tatted on her back, and Dave goes "I'd like to ejaculate on your tattoo", she kinda looks at him pissed and the crowd laughed, but I think he took it as the crowd didn't appreciate the joke for some reason.

Anyway after that he did like 3 hours of banter/material with the crowd. There were moments of awkward silence, but this guy doesn't get phased at all. He chained smoked a pack of cigarettes though. Towards the end he talked about how much he has gotten into riding motorcycles and left a clipboard for people to leave their names/phone numbers if they wanted to go on a bike ride with him to Santa Cruz today afternoon.

Somethings I took from his banter was that he really is unhappy he didn't take that 50 million dollar deal. I thought that the media portrayed him as not caring about the money, etc, wanted to leave on top, but he alluded throughout the show that he should have taken the money. One hilarious bit he had was "I used to come to the club in a hot air balloon (then he imitated stepping out of the balloon)," tells the valet "yea fold that shit up for me." lol

All in all a very funny show, but I'd bet it didn't meet a lot of peoples expectations because the expectations set for him are absurdly high, even he mentioned this a few times. Also, guy isn't scrawny anymore hes pretty ripped, girls in the crowd alluded to this several times, he said that he has a 30/70 rule, in that he can beat up 30% of people he meets lol.

Also, sorry no pics/vid, they were really strict about this mentioning it many times. I prob could have got a quick snapshot of him towards the end, but I was exhausted. Anyway the tix were only 60$, and I recommend it to anyone. You can see that when he talks, this guy does have some issues, which makes him all the more interesting.

  26. Dave's the man, some jackass in Louisville was heckling him during his act... he told him to be quiet twice, on the third time he said, "homie don't play that" & threw the mic on the stage & bounced like 30 mins into it
  27. Dammit he just did 4 shows here in Sac and didn't advertise any of them. A few of my friends went to his last show on Friday night at Punchline and I wasn't able to get tickets. They said he was hilarious and that he seemed like an actual chill guy. He walked by my buddy and his friend at the bar after his bit (Kevin Hart was there also) and they said whats up to him and he came over and shook hands and talked to them for a bit. Said he was really chill and my buddy was so nervous he forgot to ask Dave if he wanted to smoke the weed he had in his pocket. I will never stop giving him shit for skipping that opportunity.

I'm doing well Shayan. Sounded like a pretty good gig, 5.5 hours is one marathon stand up show!
I hope all's good on your end mate, if your ever downunder again we'll blaze one up and have a beer.
    All the best.
