    anyone know why it says my video card wont be supported on that site that was linked itt? it says minimum is geforce 7800 with...............it looks like it should be supported by the site says no?

    I've basically spent 2 days trying to get this shit going. Right now using Dayz commander to update my out of date Arma2 revision, and not sure if that's working. Faaaaaaaack.

    DayZ commader, should update your arma2 rev, in like 5 sec. It won't say "installed" tho, just roll with it and move to the next step.

    every life is a full reset.

    betz you might not have enough RAM on your GPU, mine runs @ 1G.

    Yeah DayZ Commander ended up working... a bunch of times it updated and then said my CD key was bad or something but I found a fix to get that to go through. So at the end of last night I was able to get into games, move around a bit, and then kept getting booted because my Battleye was not up to date or something. I've had about 5 different problems, this is just the latest so I gave up and am gonna try and find that fix today.

    Sigh.

    After you install the game from steam or wherever. Launch Arma 2, Arma 2 OA, and Arma 2: Combined Operations.

    Then, go to dayz, update Arma 2 OA, then Update Dayz Mod.

    Simple.

    Edit*** The reason is all 3 install a diff. version of battle eye.

    Not that simple all the time, the DayZ forums have a bunch of other people having the same problems and fixes are hard to come by.

    the wiki page that niceguy put up makes it pretty simple, I tried a manual install before but failed

    I know one thing i was doing wrong in the beginning that caused problems with battleeye was fixed when I ran arma 2 and combined ops (not operation arrowhead -- but "combined ops") as administrator. When i ran them normally it didnt work at first. so maybe trying closing steam, and reopening as administrator. gl.

    also anyone playing today? bout to fire it up.. iirc correctly im soimewhere near elektro/cherno with a winchester and a 1911, and a bunch of meds. going to hang around town prob until i find an AK or better. would love to make a trip up to the NW airfield with someone, never been up there before and i want a sniper rifle

    Yes. Takes bout 5-10 min on average during the day.

    This worked. Thank you +1,000,000,000 Glo4m. I got in, ran around a bit, saw some zombies, avoided them, and got out of game just happy knowing I can run it, will play later.

    Lol, so I lost my elite gear earlier to a sniper with NVGs and a DMR north of the NW Airfield. My buddy also got owned and lost his M4A3 CCO.

    But, I run good at this game, so I ended up finding a dead bandit with a Bizon pp-19 and an MP5SD6, as well as a Coyote Backpack, NVGs, and a GPS... in Elektro, lol. After heading east, I met up with my buddy near Solnichniy. We managed to get two boats up and running, a Small boat, and a PBX (rapes - max speed 50+ kmph). We went on a raid to Skalisty Island to check the Helicopter spawn, and ended up stumbling across a bandit camp, where I found a DMR, medical supplies, and two Ghillie suits and my buddy found a Coyote backpack as well.

    So 3 hours after getting killed, my current loadout is:

    M-14 DMR (5 clips) / MP5SD6 (3 clips)
    M1911 (3 clips)

    NVGs (3rd pair that I've found)
    Coyote Backpack
    GPS









    The boats seem to make the campfires and heatpacks relevant as actual heat sources, as you lose a shit ton of temperature out on the boats, especially at night.

    I've been alive for like 6 hours and haven't found shit besides vehicles, this game is getting old quick.
