I'm currently using a PDW as my sidearm as well. Definitely a Z weapon, I wouldn't recommend it for PvP. It's main plus is that it can use any 9mm magazines in the game, including subsonic SD rounds.

Been alive for about 2 weeks meow. Starting to rack up the Z kills & murders. Been doing some player hunting with a squad of 3 other guys, which has been frustrating at some times and extremely fun at others. Squad vs squad firefights definitely get your heart racing.

Loadout:

L85A2 (5 mags) // M4A1 Holo SD* (4 mags) w/ M203 (2 HE rounds, 1 smoke)
3 frag grenades

PDW (2 mags)
All tools / gear

192 Z kills / 139 Headshots / 5 Murders / 1 Bandit kill / 2500 Humanity

*M4A1 Holo SD is a scripted in weapon, which I took from a hacker. It's pretty sweet.

I've also started to dabble with Lingor Island. The map is pretty crazy... I killed someone with my first bullet in game, even before I killed a zombie.

They should make it even more realistic and make you have to take a piss and shit and whatever every now and then, and be unable to defend yourself while doing so

I think the easiest way for you to install it is to just follow the 1-7 steps listed under “DayZ Commander-Installer/Updater/Launcher.” If you already have Arma 2 installed, then download DayZ Commander and you’ll be able to get the DayZ files through there by clicking the install button for it under the “Versions” tab.

As for only 2.94gb of your RAM being usable, you can try two options to attempt to rectify it:

Option One:

(If you’re running Vist/Windows 7, click your start button and in the search tab type msconfig and click enter….If you’re on Windows XP, open up “Run” and type msconfig and then enter…If you’re on Windows 98, then I have no idea and you’ll just have to give it up!)

In msconfig click on “boot” > Advanced options > Uncheck the box labeled “maximum memory” if it’s checked off > Click Ok and restart computer and re-check your RAM.

Option Two:
Enable “Memory Remap” or “Remap Memory” in your system BIOS.

Only 2.94gbs is currently available probably because the system is reserving the other 1gb of RAM for other system functions.

Within like my first 2 minutes of play I found a dead body that was stacked with all the items, including sniper rifle, hadngun, matches, hatchet, hunting knife, sodas, encampment thing, etc. etc... dude had lots of items. But no ammo. One survivor walked by where i was looting the guy but left me alone. Then i travelled for a while, found ammo that didnt fit the guns i had, some crossbow bolts, some wire fencing shit, killed 9 zombies with the hatchet overall .. then got got by more zombies... really wanted to find some ammo so i could shoot some shit up. Tough game, hate using keyboard to control.

Mutherfuckin tilted right now. Was 5 hours deep and Killed my first bandit and looted him for all the sick gear like night goggles and all the other shit, was stocked up on meats, pepsis, medical gear, ammo, sniper rifle, two handguns, makarav and m9 something , one in the pack... had everything, slaughtered 50+ zombies, then fell off a fucking ladder and died... didnt even get chance to use morphine or whatever.... All that work and i get all the shit i need to survive mad long and fall off a mutherfucking ladder trying to get a good sniper vantagepoint near the hostpital to take out more peeps cuz zombies were getting boring to kill and waste ammo on. Fackkkkkkkkkk

just got this game.. lots of fun. Still don't really know what im doing. I just found a tent in the woods with all kinds of gear.. Anyone wanna team up?

Had a couple pretty cool experiences with this game yesterday.
Once, I was almost dead, getting mauled my zombies, broken legs etc.., and this dude rolls up on an ATV, kills all the zombies, gets me to go on the atv, drives me through this elaborate series of checkpoints (there was 3 of them) where they have a guy a couple guys standing there and you roll up, stop and he tells them "its xxxxx, just passing through" brings me into his "base" in the woods, all barricaded with that wire shit, and they have a dozen guys there, and he gives me blood, fixes me up and gives me a sick gun, then we just layed there in prone "guarding the base". I thought about just jacking the ATV and rolling out of there , lol but they would have got me quick im sure. Shitty thing is that like 20 mins later, all of us just randomly died , that must be hackers right? Have not been able to get back on that server since I updated my version , and that server has not updated version yeyt.

Second one was I found a working bus that just needed fuel, refueled it, and drove that shit around til it ran out of gas. Coudlnt find another jery can, the bus had a bunch of guns and shit in it so i was stocked up. I kept parking it and going in buildings, and somehow nobody jacked it. WHen i was looking for more gas, it was nightime and i got fucked up by zombies, i got away but couldnt walk, and literally crawled for 2 hours down the road... refusing to give up, had lots of beverages but no food, so that was flashing, this guy rolls up says to wait there he will come back to heal me, 10 mintues later i noticed he died, i set up a bunch of flares and tried to gain attention to get help, then a guy rolled up and took me out of my misery witha shot to the head
